Another question. Why have Spain so many gifted worldclass midfielders?

" Why have Spain so many gifted worldclass midfielders?"

They've been instilled with a mentality to actually play football.
What I mean by that, is that they won't have any coaches shouting at them for attempting a clever pass or skill, like they do here.

So from a young age they're told to express their creativity.

Even Jamaicans are more skillful than the Englishmen.

Dubbed

This idiot here is one of those who should be held accountable.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Hughes_(football_coach)

It is only a short read, so worth the effort.

"Hughes presented his ideas in the now defunct magazine Match Analysis and concluded most goals were scored from less than three passes. So it was important to get the ball quickly forward as soon as possible. "

It starts with Dads watching/coaching their kids on the sidelines playing school 6 a side football..."go on Son get stuck in lad"! They should be banned for starters.

And that most British kids are forced to play Rugby too. Terrible game.

This is why people who base their coaching on statistics generally tend to fail.

Graham Taylor was a disciple of this cretin. It is a great shame that some of Englands best technical, or skillful, players have been incorrectly or hardly, used by England managers.

Players like, Rodney Marsh, Stan Bowles, Trevor Brooking, Glen Hoddle and even Scholsey.

Rugby is not an horrible game. Doesn't Argentina has a Rugby team?

P.S Jamaican, Cuban and Haitian players are more skillful then Brithis players

thats the reason i didnt make it as a footballer here (not that i had any intentions of becoming one in the first place). i joined my local team as small, left footed central midfielder. because i was left footed, i was forced to play left back (which i hated). i wasnt very strong or quick and well was a bit of pansie. everytime i played at left back, i wasnt allowed to run with the ball. i had to hit it first time as hard and as high as i possibly could. it was the same for everyone. and the players i was playing against were usually bigger and scarier than me. i used to get bullied well, theres my story in a nutshell. it just shows that even in leagues no one gives a rats arrssse about (eg. oxford mail boys league), winning is the main thing. as long as you are strong, aggressive and are good at punting a ball 50 yards down the ground, you can make it.

****

yes but Rugby is an exclusive/posh sport in Argentina. Kids in the slums don't play it. They play the beautiful game.

Everyone knows it, kids are still going up to 11 a side at 10 years old.

-------------
i remember when i went to 11 a side pitches, the team that won the league scored about 250 goals, conceding just 4, in about 20 games. My team came fourth and they put about 25 past us the first game of the season. Ridiculous, i reckon pitches should gradually increase in size as kids get older so the pitch is never to big.

Imo Rooney is the only world class English player atm. And maybe JT. Wilshere will certainly be world class in a few a seasons.

Galvin, it's been a while

Dunno, I think he's world class. He's certainly the best English centre back.

What about Phil Jones and Smalling. Future world class?

Possibly. I think the term 'world class' is overused. People just call any decent player world class.
