Now without jumping the gun off the back of a Europa League performance, I think it's clear squad rotation is going to be massive for us this season with the number of games but I really don't think we have the squad for it. Our first 11 is decent with some very good players but beyond that I think we struggle
Caballero -accident waiting to happen. I never feel confident with him in goal
Christensen- not sure if he doesn't suit the system, confidence is shot or we just overhyped him to begin with.
Zappacosta-simply not good enough
Emerson- not made my mind up yet but not seem much to make me think he can ever challenge Alonso
Cahill- best years behind him and the high line and lack of composure on the ball make him a liability
Ampadu- great talent and worth of a squad place and start in the cup
Drinkwater -not worth mentioning
Barkley- looks perfectly suited to the system for me if he can add a goal he could be pushing for starts. Will get plenty of game time this season
RLC- does not suit the system at all. Very surprised if he'll still be here in January
Moses- not a winger, no threat at all after 2 years playing at RWB
Morata- confidence is completely gone, cannot be relied on
CHO- obviously not fancied just yet by the manager so not worth mentioning as a squad player
Could be a very good season if we can get rid of some dead weight in January and get some decent squad players.

I don't really care about age, irrelevant. If you’re good enough, you're old enough...
Point stands, no justification.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
When Messi was 17 he was better than Ludiovic Guily and Maxi Lopes, yet guess which pair was getting the game time? And this is the greatest of all time at the club that's supposedly a dream for youth development.
Now as i have already said i wanted them both to play last night and if they slip through the net ill be as mad as anyone, but it's far to early to declare doomsday here.

Right, so you've clearly been oblivious to comments on here prior to our Europa matches.
I'm not going to call-out the specific posters but the people who post comments like Sarri is right to play side without youth then play youth once group is won know themselves.

I was on the Haven pre match last night mf and i can't recall anyone saying that.

No one has, he massively exaggerating. The difference in view is not about playing fringe players and young players but how many to play at the same time.
Some like me believe there needs to be a balance whilst MF and others feel we should play a completely different 11 players in the EL and agst perceived weak opposition in the cups.

Interestingly enough, for all Arsenal’s philosophy over the past 15 years to give young players opportunities in the first team would it be judged a as successful a) for the individual players b) for Arsenal?

That's an interesting point, would we be happy if we promoted a player at the level of say Iwobi and gave him umpteen chances?
There's always a danger of veering too far the other way, infact i think we ourselves did just that last season with Christensen (he wasn't ready to be relied on so heavily and it looks to have buggered him mentally).

I said Europa matches, that includes pre-PAOK and I'm not only referring to the Haven.
It has been said by a number of posters that Ampadu & Hudson-Odoi shouldnt play until group is won.
Pay attention.
Also by youth I'm only talking about two, Ampadu and Hudson-Odoi (which should have already been obvious).
Never said flood the team with numerous youth in group stage, just to make that clear.
Messi is the worst possible example you could have used to support your view No-name (as he was getting starts & minutes at 17/18 y/o in the CL and league) and again irrelevant to the present day case.
Ampadu and Hudson-Odoi are two of the best talents of their generation and they've got nothing in terms of minutes in a second-rate/reserve competition, which is just wrong.

RLC was quite good yesterday and deserves more starts in midfield. He also needs to be played at times in some matches of Premiership and FA Cup.Ross Barkley is another player I like.I actually enjoyed watching Emerson and RLC play yesterday v Vidi.

Instead they have had to settle for watching their age-mates (who they outperformed at youth level), surpass them in minutes at senior level thus far.

He was getting regular starts at 18/19 (his third season as a full time pro) when he on his second like CHO and Amps are now, he was getting irregular cameos and didn't get his debut till like December.

I could kind of understand if Sarri was playing Ampadu and not Hudson-Odoi due to experience previously at Exeter, under Conte and International level but he's played NEITHER and we're not even in the CL playing high-level opponents at this stage.

There's no way Ampadu should be on ZERO minutes and this will be my last comment on the subject, hoping to see improvement in future.
