Villas Boas & referee

From the BBC website ......'Chelsea manager Andres Villas-Boas has complained to the head of the Premier League referees body following the performance of officials in their 3-1 defeat at Manchester United. "Very, very unhappy with a poor performance from the referees, which in the end had a decisive role in the result, and I don't take it very, very lightly," Villas-Boas said. "I already went further ahead with the situation by speaking to the correct people."....

What is in unhappy about - that Ashley Cole didn't get a straight red for trying to break Chicarito's leg?

...or is he turning into Kenny Daglish

Oh and you're now discussing the game from this weekend and I assumed you meant any game as you described it as 'your biggest gripe in football'

"It's not excuses when its fact"

I take it you have some kind of learning deficiency.
Here's some free advice: read the earlier post from kinsang (U3346), COGITATE upon it (if that is within your capacity) and stop being so damn silly.

And btw, the ref is always right.

Officials in the NFL rarely make mistakes (and when they're not sure there's video replay), and the NFL commentators for what is worth are always spot on. Too much referee discretion and subectivity in football and it's perpetuated by ignorant pundits who brush things aside with cliched comments.

CPofL - if you read my original post, you will see that I stated that Fergie is one of the worst culprits, so I do mean to games in general when I describe it as my biggest gripe - I am just using the weekend game for examples.

I also said that if the ref makes what is a glaring mistake then he should be criticised, but the first 2 Utd goals were marginal decisions at best, and if I were a Chelsea fan I would be more worried about the extreme lack of Chelsea defending for both goals than trying to have a go at the ref.

Refs will always make mistakes, it is part and parcel of the game, but players will also make mistakes - but to me in the majority of cases players/managers blame the refs's mistakes for losses rather than their own mistakes - that is where there needs to be a change in attitude.

Chelsea have had more than their fair of decisions agaisnt United over the last year or two

Not admitting to it is just bias and blindness.

Even Webb sided with ya at OT last season. If Ivanovic had walked, no one could have moaned.

Refs had a pretty good game but got two MARGINAL offsides wrong possibly but claiming they were poor decisions is wrong. Marginal decisions in a split second can only ever be guess work on the part of a linesman at best

I think any manager of a team playing Chelsea from now on should put in an official complaint if they get an incorrect decision go against them

No wait. It never happens to Chelsea does it

Just want to say I agree wholeheartedly with kinsang.

Dont want to enter the bun fight re who has suffered the most over percieved incorrect decisions from the referees and officials, but I do wish that ALL managers would keep their traps shut regarding them.

We are supposed to be supporting the referees via the "Respect" campaign, then we get KD asking why they do not respect his club, SAF commenting on "Not having a strong referee" following a result not going his way, and now our own boss throws his hat into the ring with an ill informed swipe.

Why dont they just accept that it is the most difficult aspect of the game, the refusal to use modern technology in decisive decisions is another major player here, if we want cut and dried decisions, then press for the use of the cameras available, if not, just wipe your mouth and accept that sometimes things dont go your way.

I thought we had a new breed of manager at the bridge, it would seem I was wrong
