The nervous excitement of Liverpool fans is understandable. To not know what it is like to win the Premier League is a lonely place to be.
Of our three PL titles I particularly enjoyed 2001-02 recalled expertly below:
"Despite being top of the table at the start of December – eleven points clear of Manchester United and Arsenal – Liverpool underwent a severe slump, falling to fifth place. 🤣🤣
Fittingly, the Premiership title would be decided at Old Trafford as Arsenal and Manchester United faced one another in a decisive encounter. Arsenal only required a draw to guarantee their second title in five seasons to go with their FA Cup victory against London rivals Chelsea four days previously; United had to win to take the title race to the last day. In the end, Arsenal won 0-1 and were confirmed Premiership champions with a game to spare."

I don't think the extra competition will bother City any, they will use their 2nd team vs Burton. City will have the advantage for only having to play Schalke while Pool play Bayern. By the time they reach the quarters their 2nd side would be capable of getting wins vs the bottom 14.

Every team that went through in that competition lost the game after, apart from ourselves. Think it may have some impact.

Arsenal, Newcastle, Wolves and Bournemouth all bent over.

We were too good for them. They didn't need to bend over.

Stranglers, I can remember seeing us win more major trophies than arsenal have won in the whole of their existence.
So far from 'a lonely place to be' I am, as always, very happy to be supporting LFC. especially as we are currently so exciting to watch and far far superior to the likes of arsenal.

Liverpool will mount a serious challenge till the end. Klopp is building something great over there. Although he's lost both the finals, getting to Europa League and CL finals is pretty good. And this team looks better than the one that reached the CL final last season.
But City will come back. I'll be shocked if the gap between the two isn't 5 or less come end of Jan. It's always the second half of the season that tests the mental strength.

Yeah I know even we laughed that they were meant to be defenders

Liverpool finished 2nd in 2002. I don't think they were ever 11 points clear either. In the 2nd half of the season they were always in the top 3. Not sure where this talk of 5th has come from.

I fully expect Man City to put six past Southampton today and get back to business.

Oh look, you got something else wrong
Keep on trying, you might get something right eventually
