So Emery is doing his best to force Ozil out of the club. Getting his wages off the books would pay for the wages of 4 new signings of the ilk of Torreira, Leno, Guendouzi, Denis Suarez etc. and he clearly sees the benefit of that. I don't disagree. And I don't think there's necessarily been a falling out but Ozil can't do what he wants and there are players he would love to buy who can.
So can he force Ozil out? That's the critical issue. This situation can go no longer than next season MAX.
Does Ozil pack up and go, leaving either high wages or top level football behind him?
Or do Arsenal struggle without him and Emery get sacked?
Neither look likely so I think we are in for a long time of this nonsense causing distractions to the club. Ozil won't change and I doubt emery will either.
The blame is shared across all, current regime and previous, but the pressure is all on Emery to solve it.

You see if you solve Xhaka, then you solve Ozil. And in fact Ozil will help link Laca and Auba if he is given a free role!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How do you figure that one out?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The problem with Xhaka is the lack of defensive discipline he bring in the side which means we need the attacking midfielder to track part or at least provide some level of defensive discipline.
That problem goes away if you have a CM able to stay disciplined alongside Torreira without the need for the remaining central player to be free on what he should be primarily doing and that's linking up attack.
If we had, say, Verratti in midfield, we can firstly going back to Emery's favored 4-2-3-1 formation, and therefore use Ozil more effectively.

True and that's the kind of player we need. They are rare and expensive though. Not easy to find someone like that.

Just need another Torreira and we'll be

We need another little magician - 22 year old Cazorla !!
We need at least £120m investment for sure (ATM, Winger, CB, LB and decent MF) ...otherwise we will fell short every season...and this is I am talking about challenging for PL not winning it.

Our first XI is good enough to compete but the drop off is drastic once we get a couple of injuries.
Hard to back Emery at the moment. He deserves time but we aren't seeing any signs of anything much at the moment.

Our first XI is at best good enough to compete for Top 4 but that's 3rd/4th spot.

Yeah that's what I meant. Rest of the squad is west ham level.

I can’t remember what Ozil was on previously but say he was on 140k a week, we should have told him we will pay him 170k a week max. Take it or leave it.
Cause 350k is a joke. We will be stuck with flopzil for years
