This cup defeat is all on Poch`s

shoulders. Lots of key players missing, but no excuses for leaving out seven of your best available players that were still available for selection. He really has not a leg to stand on, leaving out

Lloris
Rose
Toby
Aurier
Winks
Eriksen
Lamela

from the starting line up. I have backed him 100 per cent this season, but honestly you cannot have a go at Daniel Levy, when the manager picks such a weakened line up away to a Prem club, even though Palace themselves were awful. Half of those players missing today had played, and Spurs would have probably gone through against a very poor Palace side.

Poch losing a bit of faith that you do not take domestic cups seriously, and you have completely messed up the back four with your constant rotation, and please, please, please never pick Trippier again. No good keep moaning about injuries, when you still leave out your better players. If this was a one off, I could live with it, but it has happened every season under your watch. You are getting away with it far too often, and the buck is being passed on to the Chairman, when you should be shouldering the blame for your team selections.

To answer the original post by Sandy ......
I agree with Sandy 100% .....and
Toby wasn't even on the bench ...
and subbing Vertonghen at half-time for an attacker... what was that all about?
Somehow I don't think ManU are going tocome calling for Poch anytime soon!

No it’s not, Sandy!

We have a ridiculous injury crisis going on at the moment.
We had just played a cup semi final.. with an fa cup match 3 days later.. then a league matching coming up 3 days after that..
The players are not robots... they will pick up more injuries if too tired.. then where will we be?

It’s paramount that we finish in the top 4.. that is far more important... to attract better players & generate more money to pay off the stadium.

We are not like Man City with a huge talented squad costing millions!!

"Still in every cup competition" isn't that big a thing to crow about when Spurs have only played once in the FA Cup. Against League Two opposition, too. There's every chance they'll lose to Palace at the weekend and then the boast will look a bit daft in retrospect, won't it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Why is there every chance they will lose at Palace, Spurs have an excellent record against Palace. Oh and you forgot to mention Spurs are about to play their fifth game in the Carabou Cup all against Premiership sides.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They might win, of course they might. I'm just saying that "still in all cup competitions" isn't worth all that much when they've only played one easy game in one of those cup competitions.

That said, after a tough game on Thursday and with a threadbare squad... I'd imagine the team will be heavily rotated against Palace, so I wouldn't bet on a win.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeh like one easy cup game in one competition, as opposed to Prem sides in Four rounds of another cup competition, Barcelona twice, Inter Milan twice in another cup competion. So what part of not being involved in every cup competition are you trying to argue against.

Spurs heavily rotate for the Palace game. The team that plays against Chelsea will more than likely have to start against Palace. You do know we have a severe injury crisis?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The part where you're celebrating Spurs still being in four competitions, when being in the FA Cup at this point isn't exactly a massive achievement.

I'm not saying Spurs haven't had a good season, I'm just saying that celebrating still being the FA Cup is a bit daft. I feel like this isn't that difficult a concept.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Who said I am celebrating, I merely said Spurs are still involved in every cup competition. How is that celebrating, it is a FACT.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I just feel like this chain of posts is oddly pertinent.

Away from actual match days Modern day footballers priorities ;

1 tattoos

2 hairstyles

3 twatter/selfies

4 facebook/selfies

5 getting their leg over

6 extra training

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Although to be fair most men I know, including myself, when I was a young lad always opted for 5 as a priority.

We have players missing agreed, Son, Kane and Dele, so although we have three of our best players missing, there were still plenty of players Poch could have picked over what he actually started with. He is getting such an easy ride.

Even when I was young that was still 2nd priority to playing a game of football.

But then the football game did last 90 minutes

I will repeat .....
Pochettino is not a stupid as today's team selection might indicate.
I conclude therefore that he is making a point to Levy.
And I say to you ... stay tuned!

I think there's more to today's team selection than that.
I do think he did it on purpose......
but to what ends?
He may not give a fig about the FA Tin Pot (see Roy Hodgson's recent remarks on that subject) but does Levy want to lose an opportunity to bring sliverware to his shiney new stadium?
Unlikely.
So perhaps there's something more going on, don't you think?
