DPL vs Bradford City

So far, so good in the run-in post Luton. The home form which does not feel all that solid is actually statistically strong – we are top of the 8-match form table - but should not be relied upon says the manager.

The away form is not so good, especially recently, but somehow it does not feel as though we cannot win away. Perhaps we are a more inconsistent force when we contesting on foreign soil and when we do win, we seem to do so quite convincingly. Shrewsbury and Wimbledon seem exceptional and Luton forgivable.

You could say that as prospective Play-off contenders and Championship members that if we cannot win on the bottom club’s territory, we lack the fundamental competence to advance. We ought to be able to prevail even if we cannot produce our best form.

So, my view is that if we win it will be done comfortably. If we do not perform it would be good if I could visualise something more gritty and ultimately productive of 3 points. But that is not the style. So who knows? I will keep the faith and say 2-0 to us – Wilks/Copps. 17,500.

7 points from our last 5 would just about do it. So thats Plymouth 3, Accrington 3, Sunderland 0, Oxford 0, Coventry 1!

Peterborough's results are key and they could either knock out several of their and our rivals or fall to them and no longer represent a threat.

7 points may well be enough if they wane. The other 4 would have to win them all to reach 73 or 74 and Burton may well flounder tonight at Sunderland.

Looking at a Peterbro s remaining fixtures I will be surprised if they get to 70 points.
I reckon that two more wins (Plymouth and Accrington) will see us get sixth place but I also think that we might sneak a point at Sunderland or Oxford (or both).
I also think we will best Coventry.
Yes, I am an optimist.

“Beat Coventry”.

Burton managed to draw at Sunderland, and so Sunderland lost a chance to go three points clear of the Dingles. In addition to needing the points themselves, they also play Coventry, Fleetwood and Peterborough in addition to the Rovers and so play a big part in final positions. I'd rather play the Dingles or Pompey in the play-offs.
We certainly seemed to have the "on paper" easiest run-in with just Sunderland above us and Coventry among our competition. Peterborough have Sunderland and Portsmouth plus Blackpool, Burton, and Fleetwood.
Blackpool is the only other competitor with only one game against a top five team (The Dingles).
We just have to win the "easy" ones!

I think that Barnsley will finish in fourth place and we will probably play Portsmouth in the semi final matches.
Then my prediction of a few weeks ago will come to pass, us v Barnsley at Wembley.
