thoughts on this? I have been on the Tottenham Website this morning, and went over to the ticket exchange for the weekend match with Huddersfield, and I was astonished of how many tickets there are up for sale. Now I understand the system was brought in for supporters that perhaps for one reason or the other could not attend a certain match, and were therefore offering their ticket back to the club for sale. But it seems a lot of supporters have season tickets and are picking and choosing the sort of games they want to go to. Huddersfield is just the sort of game that not many at Wembley turned up for, seems like the same may be happening at the new ground. Surely if they are season ticket holders, they would want to attend all games? If not why have a season ticket, hand it over to a supporter that does want to attend every game.
Non season ticket holders (members) were scrambling for tickets last week, and were told the match was sold out, then suddenly all these tickets become available. I understand the odd supporter may have something come up, where he is unable to attend, but I cannot believe the number I have just seen on the Ticket Exchange are all supporters, who cannot attend for any reason other than they think they can get some money back for a so called smaller game they do not attend.
It would be good if the club could moniter season ticket holders, and say they missed a certain amount of games, their season ticket would not be up for automatic renewal, but would go to a supporter that was going to attend all the games.
Pretty annoyed really that the game was supposedly sold out, then all these tickets come on for sale a couple of days before the match.

I have to say though people saying we should’ve built a bigger stadium were obviously wrong.
Looks like levy found the sweet spot in 62k

Maybe for now but long term if we have the success we hope, we might regret not making it bigger. Although it's been reported that that wasn't possible due to various circumstances.

Disagree with the OP. If someone pays the money for a season ticket it's their prerogative to attend whichever games they choose.

Its the Easter holidays. loads of people on holiday this time of year.
Ticket exchange is good, giving chance to recycle tickets and get more general sale sorts through the door.

I thought about rejoining the membership so I could get access to tickets this year, but the club still want £50 to be a member for the remainder of the season. Unfortunately I just can’t afford that as well as the ticket prices, so that’s me out 😢

I agree that there are too many season tickets. I got a season ticket last year for the first time since I was a kid, but the previous few years was a member and managed to get to the majority of matches. Arsenal and Chelsea were the only games it was really difficult to get to.
The exchange is a good idea, but without having gone on it I am assuming it's mainly just single tickets? Whereas selling it blocks allows people to go with their friends.
I do find it odd people buy a season ticket without the intention of going to virtually every match. Even last year at Wembley I went to every match except for a game I was on holiday for. I personally love games like Huddersfield, we are more likely to win!

I disagree. Having a season ticket is a result of years and years of loyalty. The reward is not having to sit in the circle of Doom every few weeks and instead having a guaranteed ticket.

I have been a loyal supporter for 60 years, but only ever had a season ticket for three seasons, when I shared one with a mate, in the 1980s. I am old school, used to just go to every home game, and queue up. First come, first served. Only ever got locked out of one game, and that was Wolves in the 1960/61 season, the double season. I just used to get their early and queue up to guarantee entrance.

Sandy I think you're proving my point. Few people can go to every game because life gets in the way.
I expect to go useabout half of my ST next season, But I've found a friend to share it with. It works for me, works for them and I'll balance football and family better.
More generally on this thread, let's not judge people if they have a ST and can't go to games. It just means more chances for the wider fan base to go.
I do agree that there are too many STs and too few member tickets. But I guess it comes down to guaranteed Vs variable income and cashflow...
