Leeds Utd v Aston Villa Matchday Thread

Welcome to the Thread, a lot of disappointed Fans out there (me included) but we have to maintain our belief in this Squad, I think it's fair to say the Team have bust a gut for us this season and are in a position any one of us would have been happy with when the season kicked off.
Not many Teams as decimated by injuries as we were would have got to where we are now Enjoy it, we can still do this

Team News
Leeds United
Striker Kemar Roofe will miss Sunday's game against Aston Villa on Sunday with a minor hip injury
Ezgjan Alioski and defender Barry Douglas after knee operations ruled both of them out for the rest of the campaign.

Aston Villa
Villa will be without injured duo Tammy Abraham and Kortney Hause.
But defender Axel Tuanzebe should be fit to return for Dean Smith's side.

(there's also streams on F/book and Twitter I believe )

Match facts
This is the 100th meeting between Leeds United and Aston Villa in all competitions.
Villa have not won in five away league visits to Leeds, drawing three and losing two since winning 2-1 in December 2000 in the Premier League.
Leeds have not lost three consecutive league matches since November 2017, when they were managed by Thomas Christiansen.
Since Patrick Bamford's goal against Wigan, Leeds have attempted 46 shots in the Championship without scoring.
Jack Grealish has been involved in 11 goals in his last 15 Championship appearances for Aston Villa (six goals, five assists).

Right..............Both Teams guaranteed a playoff spot, for me this is all about Leeds United getting their belief back, i know there's still a very remote chance that we could nick a promotion spot but tbh i can't see the blunts throwing it away.

Prediction from me has to be a 3-1 Win for Leeds with the Supporters getting Man of the Match

Leeds kicked the crap out of Grealish all afternoon. He's annoying as f-ck, I'll agree with that, but all the fouls on him were fouls 100%.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What the fook were you watching, relegation w@nker?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oooh, you're hard.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not hard at all. Just know when coonts whose own team are having a $hite time go wumming. As if it'll make them feel better.

If it makes you feel any better fair fooks. I doubt it does though.

14 points from 36 games? I'll take playoffs ta.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So because my opinion directly opposes yours, that makes me a WUM? Who died and made you the Oracle?

It was a great game for the neutral, even before the madness of the opening goal. One thing I couldn't wrap my head round though was the Leeds crowd. ANYTHING that didn't go your way they were creating like mad, when from my viewpoint the ref didn't make that many poor calls. I missed maybe 15 mins of the game all in all, but the worst tackle I saw was Coopers on Grealish in the first half, and even that wasn't THAT bad, though to suggest Grealish dived for it is ridiculous. He was seen clearly pointing out the damage to the ref afterwards.

If opposition players going down easily annoys you, then maybe you should hope you stay in the Championship, as you really wouldn't like what would be awaiting you in the division above...

Whether my team has been relegated is neither here nor there. A big red R next to our name doesn't mean my eyesight is any different?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you your season wasn't over and already relegated you wouldn't be here.

Defending diving coonts and all.

90% we'll see you next season. If not all the better.

WUM coont.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're wrong. I pop in from time to time regardless of how you're doing. And I always call things as I see them. I'm sure there's plenty of your own fans on here who'd back that up, as well as some of my own who dislike my fair approach so much, that they'll even go as far as accusing me of supporting Leeds...ain't that right, Waltz?

Enjoy calling me names from the safety of your media device though, big lad
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? I've been here all season. Can't say I've noticed you while we were doing OK.

But that's besides the point, you're condoning cheating to get a reaction. Proper WUM material. Or you don't know Jack $hite about football.

And please don't find my words threatening, it's more for emphasis than owt else. More than happy to meet up with you if we play you next season.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What cheating am I condoning though?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Diving and feigning injury.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Firstly, there was no dive, not in the incident I have referenced in my post above. There's contact, albeit after Cooper does win the ball first. Doesn't make it not a foul though, not in today's game.

In terms of whether I'm a WUM or not, I'm not gonna trawl every single post, but have a look at the link below. If I was a WUM then I'd have jumped all over that like those Huddersfield idiots on Twitter do. Thats not my style though. What team you support makes no difference to my opinions on a subject.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm obviously not talking about just one incident. It was endemic from the first minute.

If you don't want to be called a WUM, don't WUM.

Champers generally calls it pretty straight in my experience.

Unlike some of his fellow Huddersfield 606ers who drop by from time to time.

Jack Grealish is a total whopper who'll go down at the slightest contact - a ready-made Premier League player I suppose - but everyone knew this already. Fact is, you played into his hands every single time. Meet Villa in the play off final and he'll be looking for it again. And your defenders will need to have learned by then.

Come on though, I'm hardly wumming as all clubs have players who feign injury. I expect there's plenty of opposition fans who've come away from playing you who have said the same about Alioski. He grinds my gears as a neutral in the same way Grealish does. Doesn't mean he isn't fouled when he goes down acting like a little girl.

For all this Grealish is amazing I think people are understating just how good Phillips was today.

Hugely entertaining reading the ignorant comments here.

I thought the atmosphere was terrific and after the second half of season collapse by Leeds, the fans were amazing with their support.

Didn’t see much of the visiting fans on tv and certainly didn’t hear them, but to their credit they turned up in huge numbers (certainly one of the biggest away attendances seen a ER) and celebrated as if they had won the European Cup again after the final whistle.

Grealish was a handful, was having a wonderful game and was certainly fouled numerous times. At some point he started going down very easily and the referee seemed inconsistent with calls - giving fouls and then not giving them with similar looking challenges.

As others have written, we can all look forward to a fabulous playoff series.

As a Leeds fan it’s really impossible to predict how we will compete.

We have seen us demolish good sides and also look hopeless against lowly teams.

To the fans of other teams who love to troll here, I’m happy for you that you get 2 or 3 additional Leeds games to enjoy this season! 👍🏻
