Double standards

I think it's fair to say that most Leeds fans agree with Bielsa's decision to allow Villa to equalise (though most professional pundits seem to disagree with it). I personally think it was the right thing to do but I do have to laugh at the double standards of the Villa fans. Watching this excellent vlog https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YQ5WihkAn20 demonstrates my point. Take a look 4:30 minutes in and you'll see the Villa fans abusing their own player for kicking the ball into touch when a Leeds player is injured. Fast forward a few minutes and the Villa fans are 'outraged' by Leeds playing on after a Villa player goes down (and not with a head injury). Hypocritical is putting it mildly. I'm expecting a fair bit of abuse for this post but all I ask is that Villa fans reading this ask themselves a question – would you or your manager have had the courage or character to have done what Bielsa did? Honest question – honest answers please.

If a ball is put out of play in these circumstances, some fans will approve, some will be outraged. Fact of life. Suspect most Villa fans approved.

The thing Villa fans complained about was the fact that your player made as if to put it out, then flicked it down the line. If he had carried on playing full tilt there wouldn't have been the fuss.

Whatever, time to let this go. The final result was probably fair.

Fair result?

Probably not. Leeds dominated for most of the game, even before the red card.

But at the end of the game, it’s only goals wot count.

If you can’t defend the indefensible, then all you have left us ad hominem attacks, I suppose.

Not sure what game you were watching but the best chances were created by one team and not the team in white. McGinn, Kodjia and Green all had very good chances to score in both halves. The stats will say Leeds were better because they had a lot of pot shots from outside the box and played over 20 minutes (including added time) with an extra man. You also had a fair bit more possession but the final possession stats are skewed in your favour as we barely touched the ball when we went down to 10.

The best chance before the sending off fell to our player not yours. Our keeper had nothing to do until the last 10 mins of the game. And you kept taking our players out at every opportunity as well.
