I am getting fed up with some of our fanbase who are criticising and demanding Emery to leave! Now I know everyone has their opinion and I respect that but it doesn’t mean I can’t disagree with it. I cannot understand it and it does wind me up.
On here, on AFTV and on social media I have seen Arsenal fans calling for his head. They say he changes the team around too much, he doesn’t know his best team, he makes weird subs and his tactics have been questionable at times. Now I think these are all valid reasons and I do think he needs to improve in some areas like these. However, I do not believe he has done a bad job. Quite the opposite in fact.
First of all, I actually like the fact he doesn’t always play the same team. Players need to know their positions aren’t secure and it’s good to switch it up every now and then.
Secondly, we all predicted a season where we would finish 6th a fair few points behind the top 5. Emery has taken this squad from that position and got them fighting for the top 4. Some of you will argue that it’s cause of the other teams not being up to scratch. I am not going to deny that is part of it but I would say it’s being unfair to the excellent work emery has done to suggest he didn’t push the team into that position.
Thirdly, people criticised Wenger for always playing the same team week in week out. They criticised him for waiting till the 70th min to do subs. I made these same complaints. You can’t then say emery should have been doing that!
Fourthly, how can you moan at a manager who has a squad that is almost identical to last years failed team. He has had 50m to spend on the squad. That’s not even enough for a relegation threatened side these days let alone a team with CL aspirations.
If we win the Europa League then we have had a brilliant season. If we don’t then I think our season has been good. Worst case scenario our finishing position this season is the same as last year. However, even then I would say we have improved and provided a better challenge to the other teams. This was my expectations this season.
I wanted to give Emery a free season. My expectations was to make sure we finished closer in terms of points to the top 4 and have a real go for EL. We have done that. I think that is satisfactory for his first season. In the summer I hope the club will provide him with proper investment (unlikely I know). If they do then our expectations will then be top 4 minimum.
Honestly, people at the start of the season were saying “we will give Emery time" and are now saying Emery Out cause we haven’t got top 4. That isn’t giving him time! I don’t believe in sacking managers left right and centre. I believe in giving them a few years so their ideas can integrate into the squad. So the team can be his team. Only Chelsea has it really worked out for and even they I think are becoming more patient.
So why don’t you honour your commitment to giving Emery time? Or is it cause you were a Wenger fan and you just want to make a point...
I am becoming fed up with our fans

The disharmony amongst the Arsenal fans is mindblowingly bewildering. Here is a club that has been been grossly mismanaged now for over a decade, by a regime and manager that were clearly not fit for purpose, whilst it’s fanbase sat idly by expecting things to sort themselves out.Turmoil had to be expected, especially when the structure and resources inherited were always going to be questionable and suspect to breakdown at any given time.Arsenal FC became a second tier club once it became clear that our manager and his cronies became only concerned in “participation” and not “competing”.Like all Arsenal supporters I want us to go through against Valencia and hopefully win the final in Baku later this month. If we manage to do this we should all rejoice.Unfortunately, I know there will still be some supporters clambering for change, YES, that’s right, those same supporters who sat idly by for so many years supporting a regime that was eroding everything the club stood for.Strange old world.

The players were exposed under pressure but so was our manager
Everton
Palace
Wolves
Leicester
Brighton
We picked up 1 point from these games.
The manager a has to take a large proportion of the blame here.
My issue is the way he has approached these games. Team selection v Palace, crazy subs v Brighton etc
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nobody is absolving Unai from blame, but to call for his sacking after one season with the squad we have is mindbogglingly daft.
Yes, the collapse has been pitiful but balancing a top four bid and Europa success is a difficult task, especially with the mentally weak players at his disposal.
Recall Jose had to throw the league to be successful in Europa last season.

Kroenke doesn't spend money. He let Wenger have free reign on players he bought. Gazdis did Wenger's bidding. I am not sure how you blame Kroenke in this situation. There are some very stringent ffp and premier league rules that stop us spending more than we earn. Kroenke is not a country so I don't see how he can inject money without being caught. All we can hope as fans is that he doesn't take money out of the club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Seems fairly clear that he does take money out of the club in fees, loan repayments and such like. He is a shrewd businessman who keeps it tightly concealed. He has said publically that he wants a return on his investment. Then you have to take into account that he used Arsenal as collateral in his building a new stadium for whatever team it is in LA. That meant that Arsenal had to have strong cash assets so couldnt spend the money they did have. He also doesnt invest in the club according to this (not the best of sources, but another question about him raised) https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/8118693/arsenal-stan-kroenke-invested-no-money-decade/

That article seriously highlights City's repeated Breaching of FFP. 90% of their cash outlay from the owners. The books can't possibly balance so why the hell haven't they been punished?
Lower league clubs have been hammered for this, yet City has the whole country kissing peps ass and hailing the team the greatest ever blah blah blah. Not at all. They've clearly cheated every step of the way. Really is about time they were sanctioned as heavily as they've overspent.
As for sacking Emery. Shut up will you. You got a bloody cheek being angry after the season we've had. I tell you, the toxic twitterheaded morons in the Arsenal fan base are just as big a problem at our club as Kronke. Regrettably, Wenger's greatestest triumphs left AFC much like the earth's oceans. Seriously polluted by plastics.

I agree with you OP, the only thing that sticks in my craw is that from our last 6 PL games we have only taken 4 points - and 3 of them were very lucky, hanging on desperately against 10 man Watford.
Basically our PL season TOTALLY collapsed costing us a top 4 spot - Emery deserves another season to build HIS team but he has to take part of the blame for this appalling implosion...

It's ok we have Emery and we are happy with the progress he has made and 5th. No manager could get Aubameyang Lacazette toreirra Leno Ozil etc to play well enough to beat 17th place Brighton and Hove albion in a dead rubber for them
