I think regardless of if you see as a negligible difference, there are many other aspects to it.

it was clear to most that BPF was a bit of a weak link, and it was right he went to number 2,

At the time when you sign an experienced goal keeper from Real Madrid, to come in as a number 1, its seen as a good move.

hindsight is a wonderful thing, its all too easy to be wise after the event.

there were no complaints from anybody at the time.

Not true, many did not see the need to replace BPF at the time and expressed that.

Spanish, I argued the young lad should have kept his place, and looking at the way things have gone he played twice as many games and let half as many goals in!..

I said the other day if he'd been given till the end off season he'd have more than likely let less goals in, which means he just might have saved those few points we were missing to keep us out off that diabolical game that his replacement helped us lose!..

i was one. if we were getting a known keeper maybe someone with championship experience it would be different. all i knew about him was that he was a backup for real that hardly played. it wasn't what i was looking for but management must have seen something. at least i hope they did.

Sentiment from most was that we were getting s top keeper.

Agree that it was debated, I must admit the feelings I had was BPF just wasn’t good enough.. though I concede that in hindsight, kiko wasn’t the right one

I have to say even now.. I do hope we can keep BPF as a number 2, and I’d actually still be ok with kiko as number 1.. maybe let them fight for the place... just an opinion 😀

I think it was a big mistake to bring in keeper who didn’t speak English mid season, especially s 3rd choice one.

Obviously benefit of hindsight with that but hope lessons learnt for future.

You see, I was speaking about that in the gym tonight.. communication is key in the position... but I can’t believe that a defender does know when a keeper says ‘it’s mine’.. or whatever.. plus in football there’s all sorts of language barrier.. MB himself doesn’t speak English
