It seems that there's quite a mixed opinion among fans as to how Lampard's career as a manager will pan out.
Personally I have a lot of faith in Lampard to be a success as a manager and I think that he has the potential to go to the very top.
Obviously being a great player doesn't guarantee being a great manager, we've seen that countless times already. But in Frank's case he's one of the most intelligent footballing people you'll meet and one of the most driven as well.
I can imagine Lampard succeeding at a great deal of things that he'd put his mind to, not just football. And I can see him getting Derby promoted over the next two seasons if he stays there and if that happens he'd become a very in demand manager in the PL.
There's a reason he's called Super Frank .
Super Frank's managerial career.

I would love to have Lampard (and Morris) back at the club - I think he is as intelligent as anyone in the game (which isn't necessarily saying a lot). But I would much prefer him to cut his teeth as a manager elsewhere - otherwise I fear he will have one bad season at Chelsea and will be sacked, as we're not known for our patience.
I would far prefer to let Allegri manage for now. I realize he won't be able to make any signings this year - but it is just for one season. Next Summer he will be able to make huge signings with the Hazard money and CL money we generate. He is very good at dealing with big egos, and I think he would make an ideal manager until Frank is ready to join him/replace him.

Though I doubt Allegri will join. If he does, perfect

Been seeing reports that Allegri isn't interested in us as he wants a year off but I suspect that's just paper talk and he'll be appointed after Sarri to Juvevis done and dusted.

Nah.
Papers will run with Allegri for weeks, nothing will come of it.
Lampard teases it for weeks, signs new deal at Derby.
Mourinho comes out saying he'll consider approach, press will spin it into a 'Mourinho confirmed in 24 hours' campaign which lasts weeks. Wahl will cream his pants.
Then bang...... Erik ten Hag signs out of nowhere.
This will be the course of events. You know, the Chelsea way. Nothing's ever simple

It's always too little too late with us isn't it. They should have come out in support of the manager weeks (if not months) ago. Sarri did incredibly well in his first season in the PL, in a new country too. He should have been lauded by the club - but all you could hear was silence while the loudest noise came from the few whining fans who didn't like him. I'm not surprised he wants to go now.
And as Devil suggests, we will find a way to be linked with hundreds of different managers, and will eventually hire one - but too late to participate in pre-season training. And whoever that manager is will have one hand tied behind his back because of previous transfer irregularities conducted by the board - the very same board (presumably) who are still making decisions for the club now. Abramovich really should be stepping in to replace the board with people who know what they're doing. We could be a really strong club if it weren't run so poorly. Frankly it's amazing we keep winning on the field with so much sh!t going on behind the scenes.

In an era of 13 managerial changes we've had three managers who came in/knew they were coming in long before the start of pre-season training. Also happen to be the three managers who've won league titles with us in this era.
It's as if having a plan works. We should try it more often

Sorry Brummie - I didn't mean to take it out on you. I had also read that Chelsea were now thinking of changing direction and asking Sarri to stay - but it's just so bizarre how they constantly chop and change without a plan. I don't know how any business can be run like that.

Interesting stat, Devil. Who would have guessed that giving a manager time to plan actually works.
