After a couple of games last year you could see that, as long as the players could avoid injury, McCann's way of playing would be good to watch and provide goals. It came to pass and he was also lucky with injuries. He has been saying that he wanted a smaller squad - not perhaps as small as at present - and I did wonder what would happen when the luck with injuries ran out. Now we will never know.
Any ideas about a replacement?
He was the leader of the pack....

There's not much between them apart from 2 feet in height and the fact that neither can score regularly. Ill go Alfie as the lesser of two evils.

When Alfie first arrived I'd of put him in front of Main, since his injury and loss of speed over the first couple of yards, I'd have to go........

You could adapt the piece you refer to Nookie into an excellent cv. Flitcroft’s record seems rather more mixed.

On the face of it, swapping someone who could only get us to a 6th place finish in League 1 for a man who left his team in 4th place in the League above seems a very good deal.

Having looked back at WBA fans' reactions on social media to his sacking I have yet to find one who agreed with their Board's decision. You get the impression that he is very much a "people" person rather than authoritarian figure.
