up with hearing about transfers that are never going to happen. The Lo Celso saga is never ending and is getting so boring now, I doubt it will ever go through, been going on to long.
Anyway I diverse, I have been watching a lot of the archive footage of the Apollo 11 Moon Landings of 50 years ago in 1969, probably still the greatest achievement by humans in my lifetime, putting men on the Moon. Obviously a lot of you would not have seen it live, I did, I watched it at the College I was attending at the Elephant and Castle, although it may have been a recording from earlier, I cannot quite remember, but nevertheless, the whole world practically stopped on that day, and although I pretty well detest a lot the USA stands for, you have to hand it to them, they put their money where their mouths were and landed those three men on the moon and safely returned them.
Lots of old newsreel film, especially from Channel Four, fascinating to see the three Astronauts, Armstrong, Aldrin and Collins chatting beforehand as if they were just going for a trip on their holidays. Imagine not knowing if you would ever be coming back. What did their families think? They all seemed pretty calm, but I reckon they knew in the back of their minds, their was a good chance they would never return.
Also I did not realise that the Russians had to crash land an unmanned spacecraft on the Moon at the same time as the Astronauts had landed. There was a proper race between the Americans and the Russians as to who could be the first to land on the Moon back in those days.
Obviously the cost was astronomical, so the Apollo Projects were scraped aroundabout the 1972. Be great if they could revive it in the 21st century. One of my interests Space Exploration, Astrophysics fascinates me, even though I hardly understand it.
Anybody else interested in what is out in the great beyond. Maybe there is another more successful Tottenham Hotspur, who knows.
Away from football for a bit, I am fed

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yup part of my apprenticeship, which I finished in 1970, went to work in New Zealand in 1971. Where were you working in NZ? I was based in Wellington.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
wellington originaly then went down south
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I was working next to the Basin Reserve at the Government Printing Office, I flatted over in Haititi. Good old days they were.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
used to watch the cricket at the Basin great spot
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Balcony from the Caledonian Arms that overlooked the Basin was a top spot to watch for free.

I remember it well Sandy. My dad was on nights and sloped off early to watch it. Woke us kids up coming in, thought he was a burglar. It started a lifelong interest for me. What is really disappointing for me is I really thought that within 25 years we would have had a moonbase and even sent people to Mars. Here we are 50 years on. I fear I will not be around long enough to see a man or woman set foot on Mars.

Growing up I used to love space and everything to do with our Solar System and I still do but I believe the landings were faked.
Why couldn’t it all have been filmed on planet earth? A poster above mentioned NASA has its own anti-gravity room!
As for song lyrics, I suggest that people really listen critically to what is being said/ sung as there’s usually a message - sometimes cryptic - in them and most likely there’s truth behind it. Same goes for so-called fiction in tv and films. There’s a reason why the phrase ‘truth is stranger than fiction’ exists.
America lied to win the space race and the lie has been kept up for 50 years. Not buying it.

Ok. So there were hundreds of thousands of people involved in the nasa moon landing project. No whistleblower calling it fake. Not to mention the Russians were in a race to the moon and undoubtedly could track what was happening. They wouldn’t keep quiet if it was faked. But no complaints from them. Not to mention the 22kg of moon samples brought back and the lunar reflector. Yeah all a big con job and lyrics in made up songs/“so called FICTION” are somehow subliminal messages about the truth. Sounds legit.
