Last night was so tough to watch ..... but you could sense how the evening was going to pan out once the team sheet became public news . Then after 5 minutes of seeing how lethargic we were.
The Celtic board once again showed their arrogance by thinking we could waltz through to the group stages without addressing our glaring defence deficiencies...... and Lennon showed his arrogance by only playing 3 defenders and taking our best and most creative midfielder and punting him to left back ..... he genuinely thinks he is a tactical genius .... he was embarrassed last night by Petrescu, absolutely shown up for what he is .... Inept !
His reaction to that performance was to blame everyone but himself , but he set us up for that performance with his selections and left £10m new signings on the bench.
But let’s get real here ...... next up would’ve been Slavia Prague, twice the team that Cluj are ! The chances of us beating them over 2 legs were slim to non existent. They are a very very good team and would have shown us for what we are in European terms ..... average at best . God we were rated 47th in Europe, Cluj were 288th !
It looks like it will be AIK in the Europa qualifier.... they will be confident of putting us out believe me .
As much as Neil Lennon has done for the club I never wanted him back as permanent manager .......why do you think most Rangers supporters were delighted when he got the job .......I genuinely believe that half of the Celtic squad didn’t want him as manager and there will be a queue to leave in January . The game at Ibrox doesn’t fill me with confidence and they smell blood now ....and with plenty reason .
KT leaving was no coincidence either .... he knew the club lacked ambition once Lennon was appointed .
It’s gonna be a very humbling season because the board don’t have the guts to make changes . But changes are what we need .
We are all entitled to our opinions and things are pretty raw right now but the writing is on the wall .
