The world is going to pot it seems, and everything is going wrong, so why not add to the confusion and chaos and return to the fold to steal the match thread crown back from Viewfrom and throw JA606 into utter mayhem?
Why. Not.
The answer to that of course is that I have a dissertation to be planning and could probably be making better use of my time than creating match threads to aggravate an online rivalry; but oh well, who needs a degree anyway.
Derby return to the IPro following a defeat at the hands of a clinical Bristol City, in the hope of claiming their first home victory of the season; letโs hope they donโt f up my accumulator this time ๐ก
Derby have won their past 3 meetings with West Brom, but the Baggies are unbeaten in their opening 4 league games this season for the first time since 2009/10. A win for Derby will put the Rams level with the Baggies on 8 points.
Holmes is not yet match fit so will not be making an appearance, as is true of Wisdom, Bogle and Forsyth, who all also remain out.
Will Marriott be starting?
Will Cocu claim his first home victory managing Derby?
Will Viewfrom retaliate in the form of withdrawing my monthly uni allowance? (Please no)
Will I win my accumulator? (Almost certainly not)
Let the banter era continue as if I never went away... itโs good to be back ๐
Derby County v WBA - Match Thread.......

For a young kid up against a player of Matt Phillips’ pedigree I thought Buchanan did OK. You can tell Dowell has a bit of quality but at the moment he is giving the ball away too cheaply. I thought Waghorn had an effective game but his penalties are 50-50: keeper guesses correctly, keeper saves. Marriott had little to work with and he couldn’t outpace their centre back on a couple of runs but he was busy and tidy in possession. Paterson had about thirty seconds on the pitch today so it’s a bit harsh to criticise his failure to win the game for us.
We were the better team and we had enough good chances to win the game comfortably. Once we sort out the full back situation I think we will be a strong team. Bielik is a talisman and Keogh seems to be in the best form of his career.

to that.

Pretty fair assessment Vidal. I did think Buchanan's delivery was bonk. Defensively he was fine.
Another two points dropped.
It'll come, it's still early and we are getting to grips with Cocu's plan.
Waghorn scores two pens and were sitting in 3rd. It's proving costly.
He can't take another one because he won't put it to the keepers left for fear of it being saved which limits his options somewhat. The word is out on Waghorn and every keeper in the league will be ready for him.

He's certainly showing a lot of faith in Huddlestone and Dowell so far. Knight was ineffective today though he kept going well. I don’t see him as a regular starter for a bit yet. I want Holmes to get fit, I think he will add something. As would that Rooney feller.

As long as we are in touch in by January.
We've played some decent oppo and could have won every game.
We'll be ok.

Huddz ok today and exceeded expectations of many.....

They do have remarkably low expectations of him though

Unlike fans, great managers think about what players CAN do rather than what they can’t, and construct a team. Can Cocu get the right blend in midfield? This will determine our season.

Simplistic nonsense and you don't get away with that. Even at this time of night!

Interesting that Cocu publicly bollocked the chance for the ref. to award them the penno.
