Would be interested to know what fellow ROI fans opinion of Stokes is.
Like Jonathan Walters he also fell out with Trapatonni but Walters has been recalled to the squad for our next 2 games. This surely is proof the he is not rated by the Irish management team.
If you look at his goal scoring record in the SPL it is very impressive . In 92 games he has managed 53 goals ( Falkirk 14, Hibs 22 and Celtic 17).
He is now probably 7th in our striker pecking order behind Keane, Doyle,Long, Cox , Walters and Best .
I for one would definitely have him above Cox and Walters in the pecking order. I think the problem with Stokes is with all respect to Celtic and the SPL is the only time he was tested at the highest level with Sunderland in England he failed miserably (3 goals in 36 games).
Do people think he is good enough to earn a place in our squad.
Anthony Stokes?

No. I'm a Celtic fan and have seen lots of Stokes as Irish Rover says he is up his own ass and doesn't work hard enough.
My pecking order for Ireland would be Keane, Long, Doyle, Best, Walters, and then Stokes. With all those fit Stokes won't get a look in. I don't rate Cox - nothing against him just don't think he's up to much. Says a lot about where Celtic are at at for strikers at the moment.

Agree with the above, Stokes is wasy down the pecking order. He must still believe in all the hype about him when he was 16. Had lots of natural ability but didn't work hard enough at his game.
