I think people really need to stop judging people solely on goals (not you in particular jp!) But usually media and pundits. Alonso was not great at all on Saturday. Emerson should come straight back in. Goals are obviously important but I think people like Garth crooks look at it as the sole category that determines a forward players game.
Willian has got similar treatment of late. He had a couple fairly average game but scored two and he got some pundits motm. His best game was Southampton away where he was outstanding but nobody mentioned it because he didn't score.

The whole balance and ethic of the side is more important in the long run, although obviously chuffed for Alonso that he got the goal with the barcodes booing him!

For me Willian has been very industrious of late...Frank has got him playing for the team

I was impressed with Willy(again) on Saturay, he put in a very good shift.I was also impressed with Puli in his short cameo,he is coming on nicely(don't forget his age)and he is still adjusting to a new lifestyle.

Willy could win the Ballon Dor and Nick would still pick holes in his game!

I bet that Nick is, big,bald and fat,and he's jealous of Willy's lovely mop !

You said something similar yesterday. Still doesn’t make sense now.

This is a summary of the example I was using OP! I can say Willian was outstanding against Southampton but because He didn’t score people don’t pick up on it (similarly people who want to have a pop at me) and because it goes against their narrative because I was critical of him in another game where he scored a deflection people pick up on it like Garth crooks.
