Well, it seems results pretty much went in our favour last night - and a positive result tonight could see Forest back in the Top 2 if they can manage to beat Hull at the City Ground
The pressure is on though, whilst on paper it looks like it should be a Forest victory, this league proves that nothing can be taken for granted
If Forest want to be seen a real contenders, then they need to prove that!
And only a convincing, professional win against Hull after a dismal, lacklustre effort on Saturday will suffice - anything less then I’m afraid the doubts and probably the reality that Forest really aren’t good enough will begin to arise
I believe we have the squad, the manager and he players to do this, the only niggling doubt I have is the mentality of the players - do they really believe that they are good enough to take control of the situation and impose their game and on other teams?
I truly hope the manager has the players in the right mind set tonight, and that we go out there and prove to ourselves that we can really push on
I really hope we can get some of our injured players back soon too - this game IMO will be won/lost in Midfield, and we could really do with a strong, tough, presence in there
Here’s believing

Controversial opinion: Lolley has been missing all season and at this point Riberio/Adomah would be a better option

Having Yates back may help a little, but Lolley, Grabban and Ameobi, all seem bereft of ideas, and unfortunately Adomah when he came on was no better. We floated aimless balls into a crowded box, and failed to compete for the majority of them. Tbh playing against 10 men for the last 20/25 minutes we should have created at least one golden opportunity, but it just didn’t happen. As someone said earlier, we have been found out and at the moment don’t have a plan ‘A’ never mind plan ’B’.

Oh dear, didn’t expect that. Well played to Hull though, they got it spot on.
My thoughts: our full backs eagerness to get forward left plenty of space behind for their two most dangerous players to exploit. If Sabri wanted the fbs to play that way wouldn’t Riberio have been a better option on the left. Would it also have been better to play five at the back. With the fbs pushing forward so much it seemed that Lolley and Ameobi were redundant.

Agree. I think he is reading off last season’s form at the moment. Never looked decisive in possession and thrashed wildly at a few shots. Should Forest have taken Villa’s £12m in the summer? I hope he will get back to his best form but am concerned it is now October and we have seen very little of the real Joe Lolley.

Ameobi seems to play like he is waiting for permission to really cut lose and have a go at the opposition. He could be a real handful at this level but too often is outmuscled by players half his size.

Carvalho can’t impose himself on games. He needs to start justifying the expense as he is drifting through the season. I gave him some leeway as he didn’t have a full pre-season but the two week international break should have been enough time to get up to speed.

Lamouchi needs to get his thinking cap on. Silva and Carvalho haven’t got the energy to offer enough support to Watson in centre mid. Semedo, if fit, or Yates should be in there or it could be another frustrating afternoon against Reading.

Agreed will, to say ameobi has enough pace to burn, and enough strength to crush a man into the ground and leave him there like a sprinkler, his reluctance to have a go was frustrating. The two (and only two) times he went on a run he played that filthy back heel, and the other time should of had a penalty.
The greatest positives from the game is that samba is looking a greater and greater buy, and that Cash has been phenomenal. Feel for cash though, hulls play is completely down to their good wingers and the amount of times Watson missed is man, or lolley went for a walk and left him 2v1 was depressing. And he was playing at RW and RB as well.

I think we’ve tried playing carvalho on the wing with ameobi more central, a a pseudo 4-4-2. In my legendary ability in football manager, I think carvalho is wasted on the wing and should be moved into the middle, and ameobi put in the wing and just told to run as it gets alittle tight for a run when your being marked by 2-3 defenders.

Ameobi has the look of a player who is under a instruction to tuck in when Forest don’t have the ball, etc. I don’t think he is the type of player who finds following plans easily and it shows when he looks a little lost out on the field at times. He is an instinctive player. Needs to be freed from tactical shackles, but it’s nigh on impossible to accommodate that as well as giving Carvalho freedom to express too.
