Brighton v Wolves Preview [LIVE]

Date: Sunday 8th December
Venue: AMEX Stadium
Kick off time: 16.30

On Sunday Nuno takes the wolfpack down to the seaside resort of Brighton to take on Graham Potter’s Seagulls.
For Wolves this will be game number 2 in a run of 10 games to be played in the space of 36 days. Thankfully Brighton will be the furthest that the squad will have to travel in that time as the last remaining Europa League group stage game will be played at home. Hopefully this will allow the squad some quality time on the training ground, something that has been at a premium since the start of the season.

After Wednesday’s win at home to West Ham, Wolves are now on a run of 10 games unbeaten, their best ever run in the Premier League. Wolves sit in 5th place in the league with 23 points.

Brighton go into the game on the back of an away win at manager-less Arsenal. They sit in 13th place with 18 points which puts them bang on course to finish in the bottom half of the table, the same as last season.

Wolves defender Ryan Bennett is fit again but the squad are still without defender Willy Boly and midfielders Morgan Gibbs-White and Bruno Jodao.

The game will be shown live on Sky Sports

Gem’s prediction: 0-2

If Wolves don’t lose tomorrow it will be their 11th league game without defeat, that would be their longest unbeaten run in the top flight since 1962
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And yet that season we won absolutely nothing.

Don’t suppose we will this season either. But I’m sure it will go down as a good season

Ron Saunders died this afternoon. Top boss for villa he was. R.I.P.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sat behind me once in the old molineux street stand, scouting. Told him I wouldn't sign no matter how much he offered. Never smiled. Told him we had no vacancies. No reply. Sat stone faced, then went. Don't think he liked me.

So we will go into this afternoons game in 7th. A win puts us back in 5th and just 3 points off 4th. A draw puts us 6th. Defeat leaves us 7th level on points with Spurs who we play at Molineux next Sunday.

I think what is perhaps more relevant is that if you exclude the Villa cup game where we fielded the kids, we have already gone 15 games in all competitions without defeat.

This unbeaten record is great but could start feeling like a burden. It’s that ‘we must lose sometime’ thought at the back of the mind. And based on Wolves record over the last 18 months there’s a feeling it will likely be a team in the bottom half that ends the unbeaten record rather than a top team. But hopefully not today.

I suspect that loss may come next Sunday against Spurs. After yesterday's performance against admittedly, a very poor Burnley, they are going to take some beating.

Don't forget Gem, to retain the unbeaten run a draw will do - piece of p!ss

Without the Villa game it is only three defeats in 27 games this season. We are tough to beat that is for sure but as dj says, defeat is coming, let's hope we bounce straight back when it does.
