Time For Premierleague Change?

What new rules, if any, would you introduce into the Premierleague if you had the chance? In my opinion this superb man sums it all up perfectly with his ideas in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kd7KAIRIjQE

What would your ideas be???

I don't see what is so stupid rewarding teams that WIN trophies, as opposed to teams celebrating 4th place in the PL. Moreover, it glorifies the oldest football competition in the world.

It's just an opinon, so grow up you pathetic person.

Might as well include the League Cup too then, that is a trophy...Oh and why not the Johnsons Paint Trophy too? And the Charity Shield?

Maybe because anyone can particpate in the FA cup and not in the other competitions, perhaps?

The Uefa Financial Fair Play Rules are a joke and totally anti- competitive.

Had these rules been in place since the Premier League started in 1992 only Arsenal and Man United would have won the league. How is less competition good for the game. The likes of Blackburn, Chelsea and Man City can only compete with Arsenal and Man United through wealthy owners investing money into our game.

How can any rules that stop investment into the sport (Newcastle and Sunderland have both benefitted from Chelsea spending £50m on Torres. Not doubt Newcastle and Sunderland will reinvest that money too)but at the same time allow the likes of Man United, Real Madrid and Barcelona be £400m plus in debt be fair?

I would like to see the Premier League reduced to 16 teams (with the Football League divisions reduced to 20 teams, maybe having North/ South bottom divisions), make the League Cup two-legged all the way through, have a clear fixture list for the FA Cup resulting in a end of season 3pm on Saturday finale, introduce a Premier League Cup as a pre-season tournament, you have four groups of fours. each group will effectively be a tour and would be played aboard ie one group in Japan, one in Malaysia, one in the USA etc, then the semi finals and final would be played at Wembley at the end of August and the final would be for the Community Shield.

5 match ban for diving/feigning injury. A fine is useless. Even £50k is only about a week's wages to most Prem players.

10 matches for those 'over-the-ball-two-feet-off-the-ground' tackles.

Might get a bit messy for a couple of weeks, but it would wipe both things out completely.

two year contracts , no agents allowed .
22 man squads, wage cap of 2 players on band 1 150-200k a week, 5 on band 2 100-149k week etc 10 on band 3 50-99k etc.
+2 academy / home grown players can be added to each band

No Wigan's, Fulham's or Bolton's allowed.

Only the big clubs are allowed in the PL and if these teams get promoted then they have to move down a division.

That way we will truly have the best league in the world.

* Never saw the point of the 'offside rule' in any of it's guises. Get rid of it. There is no room for such subjectivity in professional sport.

* Handball should always be handball. If the ball comes into contact with a players hand, I don't care where it is or how it happened, it should be a free kick/penalty (provided the referee or his assistants see it of course).

Again, there is no room for such subjectivity in professional sport.

* Any team that has a player booked for simulation should lose a league point for each time it happens. In cup games it could result in a penalty to the oppostions wherever the dive was. Referees and their assistants (including 4th, 5th, 6th or as many referee's assistants as you need if required) would need to be really hot on this.

That should improve the game.
