Well, another good result away from home. We were okay today, not brilliant, but we stuck at it and got some luck - at last after 3 home defeats. I hope Lampard starts learning quickly. We have the basis of a good team and squad, a lot of promising players. We have a good system but we need to be more vertical sometimes.
Jorginho is a very good player but he is being played as a deep lying playmaker - a Xavi, Pirlo, Guardiola type player. Now for us, that position is defensive midfield except these players are technical players, a little slow, and they can't tackle - in fact defensively, they are liabilities. Jorginho should be played further up the pitch as he could help us unlock stubborn defences with his passing.
The opposite could be said for Kante. Good player though he is, he offers very little high up the pitch. His strength is in his speed and ability to break play up. Technically he is not good enough to be an attacking playmaker. We need his aggression and protection in front of the defence.
Lampard has to find a way for us to be creative and get goals in those games at home when they just pack the defence, sit deep and catch us on the counter. We've lost too many home games like this.
