Revised transfer priorities

With recent events, ie Tanganga looking like a reasonable emerging talent at RB or RCB in a three (don't think it's fair to put one so young on his wrong side at LB). Also Aurier looking like he might be able to hack it as a RWB (though not a defensive RB) also Davies (when fit hopefully soon) at LB and Sessegnon at LWB.
Doesn't that change our January transfer priorities to:
1. A defensive mid - None of the current options seem to be good enough, either too lightweight (Winks, Skipp) poor technically (Dier, Wanyama) or injured (Sissoko, Ndombele).
AND 2. A striker who can play as a target, impose himself physically and find the net from time to time.
If we got those two positions sorted, wouldn't we be more balanced and competitive?

so accurate

"Don't care if a DM or a ST is brought in first, they're both urgent." still leaves us with no full backs
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My point is, it doesn't matter which is #1, #2, #3 priority etc. They're all facking urgent so they should all be prioritised equally

Transfer priorities have not changed for the last 2
plus seasons, the emergence of Tanganga and arrival of Gedson makes no difference, maybe now Tanganga will be competing with Aurier ( expect Tanganga to win that decisively)
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jose really rates aurier for his lopsided defence
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Jose said hes not a part of the defence( which I have to agree) hes a right sided attacker

And so he should, he is currently our best right back, and arguably our best defender.

Right back is the least of Spurs problems at the back. CB and left back are much more pressing problems. Two ageing CBs and no decent left back makes those two positions very weak. Tanganga had a decent debut against Liverpool, but was well off the pace against Watford, and was a weak link. I think a lot of our supporters are getting a bit carried away with him. He may be a really good player in time, but as yet as a lot to learn.

Tanganga played LB against Watford which was ridiculous decision, he has never played there, so i dont blame him for that.

Aurier is not a defenders arris , hes ok pushed further up the pitch, but needs a lot of help physically and mentally

Things wrong with Sandy's post #17,489:

"Best right back" - more like ONLY right back

"Best defender" - LOLnope

"Right back is least of Spurs' problems" - nope again. Not QUITE as desperate as DM and CF, but that's not saying much. It's still BADLY deficient.

"Two ageing CBs and no decent left back makes those two positions very weak" - ...yeah, to be fair, this is true. But that doesn't mean RB isn't also a pile of garbage.

"Tanganga was a weak link vs Watford" - because he was making his, what, 3rd career league start, in a position he'd never played before. Maybe have a bit of perspective/give the kid a chance.
