I'm missing doing the TOTD over on the other one so I thought I'd give it a whirl on here.
Can't you do bold typing and such like? I've tried all the formulas/formulae (?) I know to make this look interesting. I wish I could have pictures, too.
ALSO IN THE NEWS
A US businessman who drunkenly abused staff on a British Airways flight to London has been jailed for three months.
Early on in the flight he began chatting up a female crew member who was replaced by her male colleague after she felt uneasy. The businessman told told her "I love you" after she served him champagne, but he denied telling her she was "****" (- means attractive - cannot believe it won't let me type that word in full. You really are censored on here, aren't you?) When the male crew replaced her and refused to serve him drinks, he swore at him.
He also refused to turn down the music on his laptop, was aggressive towards the head of cabin crew, when he was brought in to calm the passenger. He said at one point "Do you think I'm going to stab the pilot?".
The businessman was also handed a written warning about his conduct, which he threw away, and crew on the flight had restraints ready for him, the court heard. He was arrested soon after the Boeing 747 landed at Heathrow Airport.
He says he's "totally and utterly ashamed" about his behaviour which was "out of character" for him.
Have you ever witnessed an air-rage incident?
ON THIS DAY
in 1580, the Golden Hind sailed into Plymouth, England, as explorer Francis Drake completed his circumnavigation of the globe.
So have you ever toured the world? Ever lived in a foreign land? We know that Darn_unda lives darn unda. And MNterrier lives across the pond.
I've only had holidays. I've had a yearning to live on a Greek island ever since I saw Shirley Valentine! And, no, it's not because I want Tom Conti to make **** with me! It's just appealing to wake up to blue skies and sunshine.
If I were to emigrate, I think it would be New Zealand. But I think I'm past the age where they're interested, tbh.
in 1961, Will Self was born.
He's a bit depressing for me. Having said that, I did find some of his musings on "Grumpy Old Men" funny.
Are you a grumpy in the making? I am. My big bug bears are TV adverts and anything that's been "media-studied".
What do you gripe about?
in 1981, Serena Williams was born.
I'm not a fan of either Williams sister. I think they're all about intimidation and no real skill. And why do people keep going on about them having style? What's that all about?
Well, that's all folks, for today. See how this one is received.
Thanks for listening.

By the way, hope I haven't stepped on your toes, MBWB. Just realised I should have checked if you minded me butting in with a TOTD! Here am I complaining about being usurped over there and I've done it to you!

Not at all Amelia, TOTD is for everyone to do for a bit of a distraction from the usual banter.
I must admit I did try new606 and didnt take to it. I guess we are all creatures of habit and I like this site. The only downside is since the BBC did the stupid thing and closed 606 the members have spread far and wide so you dont get as much banter with other teams as you did

It's building up nicely over there and I love the extras like pictures, etc. I am 3rd on the list of users with over 5,000 posts so that's how much I like the site. Granted, most are down to playing around in off-topic which is brilliant. But, TTC's been allowed to go back to his bullying worst. I can't do with that. We'll see how it goes. LIke I say, just testing the water!

Well for a thread of the Day, I'd say it ain't bad 'just testing the water'
s'good to have a thread detached from football too I reckon, Bloggers tend to 'loosen up' & have more of a laugh, Which can't be bad ..especially for grumpy Tykes....
eMBee ! How good was that year round Christmas decoration shop in Banff main street , I "LMAO" at some of the stuff in there . Staff ! The best one who appeared genuine , & enjoying his job, was the snowcoach driver on the Glacier, He was an absolute riot, But agree, 1st class service where ever we went,

To be honest Darn I didnt do any shopping, was too busy at Sunshine and Lake Louise to do any! We only went for a week so made the most of it. The food at night was amazing and was nice to stay somewhere with a kingsized bed rather than the single cots you get in French chalets!
Sunshine on a good day midweek (hence no local crowd) is about as good as it can get. There was a particular piste near where boarders pretend they can do jumps, was amazing. We had it pretty much to ourselves and could pick our own path and having 5 or more people doing that at the same time and noone getting in each others way was special.
I had to duck out of it next year as cant afford the time or money to go but am so gutted, addicted to the white stuff!

Evening all. I can't believe I'm older than Will Self. He's got a face that could curdle milk. I saw him on Newsnight not so long back. He's such a pretentious plonker, he uses words that nobody's ever heard before. Can't think of any at the moment because it all went over my head, but he sounded like he was making them up like Blackadder in the episode about the dictionary.
As for the Williams sisters, they should retire and do panto........as certain members of Cinderella's family.
