Air rage? Is that when the kids squabble to get to the internet at an Apple store??
I spent a summer working in Sydney inbetween my second and third years at Uni and that was great. Got a temp job at Citibank and earned a decent sum of money too! I was working in their life assurance section, you wouldnt believe the amount of information they have on you and that temps have access to!!!
We have a few Grumpy Old Men on here but I do agree Will Self can be funny.
The Williams sisters scare me, I reckon their blokes but be either very brave or very submissive!!! No idea on their fashion sense to be honest but I dont get the wearing of jewelry on court, maybe thats why the russian girls are kicking their backsides.

Yes, I've witnessed that type of air rage!
Not that I'm trying to boot you out or anything but did you fancy taking up permanent residence in Oz?
I'm becoming increasingly disillusioned with this country, aren't you?
Re the Williams, those beads that they wore in their hair at first were appalling. Surprised they didn't give themselves concussion when they were battering against their heads. I seem to remember they had a warning or two for ones that came off and were on the court...?

Welcome amchaff, for a laugh type in this eBay number and read the description : 18072658776.
It's very funny.
UTT.
Ta Admin 2... just finding my feet!
OK, hydy, I'll have a look. Back in a mo.
Whereabouts, hydy? You do mean on the eBay site, I presume? It's not coming up with anything.
Just off to meet m'lord Snooty. I'll be back later.
180726587776 is the number sorry
Never thought I would see you posting on hear Amelia.
Welcome back chaffinch, try to bring some of the old gang back, wakey, snooty, Where is Kent?
my view of "foreign lands" was marred for 20 odd years by some of the occupants both there legally and a couple of times "illegally" trying to kill me..
canada is a great place for any reason that you can think of to live somewhere.. it has everything and if you can "do a bit of french" there is nowhere that treats you badly..
a number of people that i used to work with have ended up there and not one has anything bad to say about it..
any country that has as many firearms as canada has and so little homicide and gun crime has something very good going for it.. if it was the same here you would be late for work driving round the bodies littering the streets..
persons who disrupt flights should be taken to court and have their passports removed...simple...announce it and change the law and then do it...
Amelia
I have been tempted on several occaisions to move to Oz but each time things have got in the way. Now I have a son I think I would be killed if we moved away from his grand parents! A few guys I know who moved out there have a pretty damn good quality of life and houses with pools which would be great!!
Im sure Ive seen the Williams sisters with chandeliers hanging from their ears, Bet Lynch would be proud!
Oh and Wirral, in response to your post on the match thread, it wasnt me in the Clio but I was certianly looking glum driving back on Saturday!
"Flippin' 'eckers like Amelia".........
That's longer than the TOTD on the rival board.
Re- the Air Rage ,
2004, Tullermarine airport Melbourne, & Celtic supporters Australia had just had an annual 'pow wow' & the Perth contingent were going to be on our Flight, (We were returning from the World Superbike round from Phillip Island)
These guys were obnoxious & very drunk. so much so that about 6 of them were refused access to the plane, The rest would best be described as boisterous 'rude'..! The 'crew' ineffect cut off their supply of booze & they calmed 'darn.. But for two, who were nothing more than childish nuisances , But it was very uncomfortable. As we came in to land at Perth, The head steward thanked everyone for flying Virgin Blue, & apologized for 'the troublesome few' to which the whole group of passengers erupted into
As for living abroad,...best thing I ever did, I'd recommend it to anyone, &...(some of you won't want to hear this..soz !) That 'Pennine Negative' washes away quicker than you'd think
I'd quite happily keep on moving around, & as the last of the offspring leaves home this very weekend......We might just do exactly 'that'....(Amelia, You & Snooty book that flight & camper van round NZ...my cous did it this last summer & loved every mile of it, we did it in the late 90's, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
Is it just possible 'I' am the original 'grumpy'..
What do I grump about..............?
What DON"T I grump about ...
My biggest moan, "Stop hogging the middle lane"
I'll second Wethers comment too ! Welcome back, & bring some of the 'old gang' back with you
mbwb..
its full of australians!!!!
its full of small furry things with too many legs that can kill you and right big slippery things that want to kill you..
the beautiful beaches are full of pains in the ars- with sun bleached hair and the blue/green sea if full of pains in the ars- with big teeth and no way of telling if you are food or not until they bite you..
anywhere that produced neighbours , mel gibson and rolf harris is worth avoiding..
But they also produced Holly Valance, Kylie and Heath Ledger! We produced East Enders, Danny Dyer and The Chuckle Brothers so we have no high ground!!!
Plus see Two Hands if ever get the chance, great film with Ledger in it.
I have to agree with the comments about Canada, most friendly place I have been to. When have skiied there its awesome but need to beware of food portions as you could put on 2 stone in a day!!!

Like I said, & right on que 'eMBee' 'That Pennine negative washes away quicker than you'd think'....
38 ? from your analysis above, We must have met before,
I don't know why I'm laughing folks...! He's RIGHT
On this day in 2012, Huddersfield Town celebrated a record-breaking 50 consecutive mind-numbingly boring home games. A magnificent achievement which contained no less than 26 draws and helped them retain their league 1 status. On departing for his new job as Newcastle reserve team coach, Lee Clark said "None of the draws were my fault, I could show you whose fault they were but I don't have to do that".
id check the stats and see if anyone has gone as long as we have without winning anything but i cant be ars-d..
i doubt it though..
the above rude comment about the chuckle brothers is unwarranted.. they saw a gap in the childrens tv market that should never have existed and they filled it to some tune..
2 grown men acting like ars-holes with daft haircuts, we already have that and more in hollyoaks..
'eMBee'.
We mountain Bike'd, White water rafted, Quad biked, & canoed... & Still put weight on.
I assume you were in B.C. (Whistler- Sun Peaks..?)
Friendly seems inadequate in the case of Canadians.
What a great land, How cool would it be to call that place 'home'.
I'll be back there before it's time to 'fasten the lid
darn'.. can you believe I got an invalid comment rejection for wanting to use a screwdriver to fix the coffin lid .....c'mon guy's This 'correctness' is hideous .
We went to Banff, Darn. Having skiied in various places in Europe you are used to an attitude where people are almost enjoying being rude or atleast like to ignore you.
We were a group of 5 and restaurants would always bring individual bills without being asked, would have amazing service (without being too in your face) and seem like they actually enjoyed their job. Lift queues were non existent but the people working them were almost exclussively Aussies and had a penchant for Chuck Norris jokes.
Im off to Canada next year for my mates wedding which I am best man at. To save money Im going without my wife and son so it should prove perfect time to catch up on some drinking time that has been lacking for quite a while!!!
Sorry if I offended you 38, you and Barry were brilliant in your day
To you...
no worries darn..
i have been holiday skiing lots of times and never put a pair of skis on..
i have had more ski lessons and been made to ski up and down and mainly across large expanses of the white stuff to last me a lifetime..
im not bad off piste though.. even when very piste!!!!!
maybe after a very long break from it i might enjoy it as a hobby.. rather be snorkelling somewhere sunny though..
No, hydy, still nothing. Am just supposed to put the number in and search?
Just checked again and its been removed, never mind.
I looked earler and it is funny! Think the price going upto £800m for a Sat Nav may have had it removed
What was it? Give a=us a clue... or tweet it to me....
I'm in suspense now.
Anyway, thanks for the welcome, people. I don't know whether I can cope with going back to this style but I'm trying it. And you do have the advantage of not having TTC. Which is what this is all about really.
