Toni Kroos: "David Moyes had come to see me and the contract [to #mufc] had basically been done but then Moyes was fired and Louis van Gaal came in, which complicated matters. Louis wanted time to build his own project." #mulive [the athletic]
Toni Kroos: "I didn’t hear anything from #mufc for a while and started having doubts. Then the World Cup started and Carlo Ancelotti [former Real Madrid manager] called. And that was it." #mulive [the athletic]
I want to cry a little bit.

Yes 13% of the value of the club as debt is disgraceful.....
The only thing they have done wrong is with the retirement of SAF and letting David Gill step down at the same time and not appointing a DoF. They’ve spent a fortune on players that our managers have wanted.
The only ‘better’ owners would be a russian oligarch type or oil money from the Middle East. I know which I would rather, especially if we’re talking about morals!!

They’ve taken a billion quid out of the club.
£1,000,000,000.
We could have had a new stadium, new training facilities, an arena for the junior sides, *and* a reduction in season ticket prices for that money.

No normal level financed owners would have done that and I doubt oil wealth would have done that either.
You’re ignoring that they’ve spent like what? £700m on players since SAF?

And you seem to be ignoring that they’ve taken a billion pound from the club, not spent a single penny of their own wealth into the club, bought the club by putting it in debt which has since grown and will leave behind when they’ve sold us. Look at the state of this club over the past 7 years under their ownership, look at Woodward, the man hired by the Glazers to run our club and continue to do so.

No I get that and I’d love a local Mancunian billionaire to own the club and dump hundreds of millions of their own money into the club unfortunately that is just not a reality. It’s either businessmen like the Glazers or the aforementioned oil based billionaires/trillionaires.
They’re at fault for Woodward we all agree with that and I mentioned that earlier but their use of the finances and structured debt and releasing of equity is fine by me. If they hadn’t backed managers and took money out of the club then I wouldn’t be happy but they have also spent a fortune when they could have easily spent a lot less and sold the club.

I’d much rather they sold the club, and it doesn’t have to be businessmen like the Glazers, just look at Liverpool, run by an owner who actually wants the club to succeed on the pitch and thinks about how to make that happen other than just giving the manager money to spend.
The Glazers couldn’t care less if we’re successful or not any time soon because currently most of our wealth comes from other sources based on our reputation from the past. They’ll most likely flog us off once they’ve rinsed us of everything and left us as a useless mess because they don’t care. It’s genuinely worrying what state the Glazers will leave us in.
