So odd... Kroos was perfect for lvg
LVG fecked it up for us
I remember reports at the time that LVG didn't want Kroos - and we ended up buying Schneiderlin instead

Morgan was the year after
The world cup is probably to blame... All his focus on that and united on the back burner
Did we sign shaw mid tournament or after?
Wonder did we panic a bit after kroos and pushed the shaw and herrera deals before the tournament ended to prevent a second disastrous summer in a row
LVGs problem was his ego. Couldn’t let Kroos be a success and he knows as Moyes signing.
Reasons why you should not change managers all the time.
Moyes should never have been appointed.
with that said, why would any manager in the world turn down toni kroos. and then buy the way past it schweinsteiger
idiocy.
but lvg was chit and made terrible buys for us so doesn't surprise me.

Unless you have a competent DoF or TD in place.
This story *perfectly* sums up where we’ve been since Ed has taken the reins.

Yup
fock's sake... I'd have happily had a year more with Moyes to get Kross at that age.
It's odd becasue I would have thought Kroos was the sort of player LVG would like, plus he worked under him at Bayern when he brought him back from his loan spell so surely was aware of his talent.
He's exactly the type of player the club have been crying out for for years and still are. I'm sure Kroos is relieved United never got back to him.
It is interesting that it looks like we didn't bother following up Moyes players but did so with Shaw and Herrera who by all accounts were players the club wanted rather than any manager.

Pretty much this
MUFC Q2 results. Revenues of £168.4 million. Operating profit of £36.5 million. Commercial revenue up 7%. Broadcast down 37% with no UCL. Matchday revenue down 15% with fewer home games. Net debt is £391 million, up £73 million.
Financial genius our Ed!!
Nice to see the Glazers are sorting out the debt.

Yeah, they have no interest in doing that.
The debt (generated by loans *they* took out to buy the club) will remain against the club when they eventually sell it.

Why would they do that?
Keeping the club in debt is a good business move for them and means they avoid pesky things like taxes.

On what basis? People do this with businesses literally all the time.
How is it mad to buy a business through a loan taken by the business and not yourself, then selling the business with the debt never paid off? You don’t think that’s mental?
Just because it’s done doesn’t mean it’s right. There’s loads of stuff that is legal but morally wrong.
How is it morally wrong then?
