Next season can’t start

Until this season has finished, it’s a no brainier

The euros will be cancelled so that gives a lot more flexibility and there’s no reason that the season needs to start in August so regardless of when teams are able to start playing again be it April or July the remaining fixtures MUST be completed.

It doesn’t matter what the struggling teams owners Everton, West Ham, Spurs and Arsenal are all demanding

You can’t say to Liverpool, West Brom, Leeds, Swindon, Leicester and countless other sides that despite playing 80% of games it means fck all

Let’s put it this way if things don’t improve and we can’t start in August would we say fck it don’t bother playing now until next August

There are just no ethical, practical and downright 'common sense' reasons not to completely 'delete' the season.

really? the season is only around 70% complete.
suppose sky/BT/etc ask for 30% of their payment for the seasons tv rights back? add in the loss of 30% of each seasons gate receipts. you think that won't have an effect on the bottom line of every clubs p+l?
the premier league clubs may just weather that, but league 1? league 2? or even further down?

your 'delete the season' idea has no ethical, practical or common sense reasons not to happen? try telling that to all the everyday staff at those clubs, at the stadium's food concessions, etc. who lose their jobs because of the uncoverable drop in revenue caused by this idea.
at least if the games can be re-arranged at some future point, that revenue, and those jobs can be secured. not everyone who relies on football for their income get paid thousands per week.

assuming that everything returns to relative normality, and the only issue is the timing/scheduling of the remaining matches. there is one obvious, but not ideal solution,
every club plays pre-season matches to get fitness back, integrate new players etc. cancel foreign pre-season tours. don't let clubs arrange their own pre-season friendlies. arrange the remaining games of this season AS the pre-season games of next season.

No need to be laughing at Liverpool, their season has already been ruined
=============================
I'm sound with it to be honest.
We are pi55ing the league, we will be awarded the trophy probably in the summer, and have a lovely parade in the sun which will obviously cheer up the nation. 🙂🌞

If the rest of the nation behave we’ll even let them join in

The whole point of this article it seems, is to make sure that Liverpool win the title, nothing or nobody else matters. It is truely pathetic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It is in fact the other way round. We all want the season to finish when it is safe to do so in the interest of fairness across the board. You want the season to be cancelled so we don't win the league. Pathetic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolutely spot on

The ONLY people advocating this scrap the league, null & void nonsense are those with an vested interest (Karren Brady) or those who would go to any lengths to prevent Liverpool from winning the title.

Yes, I'm looking at you sandy inter alia

THAT is pathetic, by any definition.

Both sides are arguing in favour of their vested interest. It’s not just one side

To be fair ANY argument that ends in Liverpool not being crowned champions is pretty ridiculous.

yep,. sandy just wants the season cancelled now, before spurs drop any further down the table....

League needs to be played to completion as money filtering down from promotion clauses, relegation clauses, parachute payments etc.

Happy to see Liverpool crowned champions, if season is played to completion. Otherwise it’s not fair on the remaining 90 league clubs.

Surely we are one of the clubs benefits most from the break?

Kane, Son, Bergwijn & Sissoko all will be back once we start up again.

So PL open to finish league between July and September.

No cup congestion for the favourites to win so all should be happy
