Uefa President being honest that season could be lost.

Could is an understatement, breaking us in gently

It’s a bit naive to think the PL can void the season without considering other leagues.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's enormously naive to think they will consider anyone but themselves. Where have you been since 1992?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet you think Sky/BT will compromise towards something they’ve already paid billions for.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, to preserve their business going forward, no Premier League, no Sky
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It really is the other way round. Other networks wont even pay 50 percent what Sky paid if the season is scrapped.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
For the next 5 seasons you numpty

The Premier League has cash reserves of £1,500,000,000.00

It could settle a deal with Sky in a heartbeat. Compromise, move on to next season.
Don't compromise, move on to the next 5 seasons with someone else

No point reasoning with a fantasist.

The PL will be forced to accept lowball offers from other networks as the product will be tarnished and no longer seen as a reliable asset.

No they wouldn't and no it wouldn't be. Are you actually mental?

Premier League Clubs won't sue the Premier League if the Premier League is cancelled.

The Premier League IS the Premier League Clubs, and the Premier League Clubs will have voted to cancel it.

14 Clubs can change anything (subject to FA agreement) and if any of the remaining 6 don't adopt the change, they are expelled.

A sensible comprise deal with TV Companies, cancel the season, preserve future incomes, move on.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
How will canceling the season preserve future income?

It will put future income in great peril.

TV companies are losing subscribers and money and will lose hundreds of millions if the season is voided. They are also supposed to pay a tranche of money in May, which they won't pay. If this isn't paid half the clubs won't make it to next season.

Don't agree with all of that, but you do have a bit of a point there in that clubs who are members of an organisation are expected to abide by all rules and inal decisions of said organisation. They'd have the right to an appeal naturally, and would be able to escalate that appeal through the Court of Arbitration for Sport, but I'd be very surprised if any court ruled in favour of the club(s), particularly given the current circumstances. I'd expect a global health crisis would be considered a fair and just reason to cancel any competition.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What will be the knock-down effect of such a decision across the board?

For instance, clubs will be unable to pay wages and could rip up player contracts for the same reason. If a season can be cancelled then your contract can be voided on the same grounds and basically any contractual obligation can be absconded because of the global health crisis.

If a player sues a club then I expect a global health crisis would be considered a fair and just reason to cancel any contract especially when the season has been cancelled and clubs have absolutely no source of income to survive until next season.

Anyway clearly you have no grasp of economics.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Did you just ignore the "Compromise deal with TV Companies" bit?

I do btw
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You do know, that a "compromise deal with tv companies" is wishful thinking, and that as tv companies hold all the cards it will mean a huge loss for all clubs if the season is discontinued.

I don't think you get this, clubs have already spent money TV companies have not yet provided.

I haven't even mentioned the issues regarding sponsors, commercial deals, contracts, season tickets.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You're serious aren't you?

Blimey.

1. Context
Global Pandemic. Governmental edicts preventing mass gatherings, reducing unnecessary demands on Emergency Services, social distancing, travel restrictions, hotels shut, flights cancelled.

No court ruling is going to ignore this.
---------
Exactly. Courts will be aware that if they establish a precedent where covid is grounds to void a contract, they will be opening Pandora's box as any contract will become voidable from the moment that precedent is established.

You can't think small time when it comes to these things saan.

2. So what next for the Premier League if Sky sue?

The Premier League will settle, then end the relationship with Sky.
Disney, Amazon, BeIN, Netflix, Apple, Google and just about every other platform on the planet will happily take the contract up, and pay the equivalent in damages to Sky to secure it.
------
If the TV companies sue they will be entitled to 762m in rebates for this season. How much do you think they will claim in compensation for losing the next two seasons as well? The Premier league won't be able to settle that.

3. So what next for Sky if they sue?

They will win a settlement.
Then lose 3 million subscribers to one of Disney, Amazon, BeIN, Netflix, Apple, Google...

And die.
---------
What will happen if the don't sue?

They are hemorrhaging subscribers at the moment and will have lost hundreds of millions by next season. This will leave a mega blackhole in the accounts and probably they will record a loss for the financial year.

A compromise where the season is finished is the only way.
