If a player is described as being Right or Left sided, what does that mean to you? Asking for a friend.

Inverted wingers are wingers, but apparently clubs don’t use wingers anymore.

Then I guess that makes them inverted wide forwards.

No. It makes them wingers. It’s just that some don’t get it.

Call them what you want. The focus of their role has changed from hugging the touchline and putting in crosses to now getting into the box and getting goals.

Roles change/ evolve but it doesnt change the name of the position.
Fullbacks are expected to attack far more than they used to be. Still full backs.
Centre backs are expected to be far better on the ball than they used to be. Still Centre Backs.
Wingers are expected to score more than they uses to. Still wingers.

Exactly. The half backs are still half backs, the inside forward is still an inside forward, the outside forward is still an outside forward...

So what if a striker plays on the wing like Rashford, would you call him a winger?

No. He is a wide forward.
Likes of Sane, Sterling, Pulisic, Pedro, James, Dembele, Sancho are midfielders / wingers
