Well this is going well.

Rdd, does your "friend" know the difference between being left sided and being left footed?

No.

Care to explain

Is calling someone a wide player a PC way of saying ne is fat?

It’s a term the players tailor uses when they sit for a yearly fitting of their kit. It’s to avoid any embarrassing inadvertent touching.

He plays on the right or left. What else can it mean?

If I had to explain (which I will, as I'm bored), I'd say that if a player is left-footed and predominantly plays on the left, you could refer to him unambiguously as "left-sided" (same for the right, of course).

However, because so many players favour one foot but play on the other side, just to say "a left-sided player" or "a right-sided player" is ambiguous without context. I certainly wouldn't say something like "We need a left-sided player to give a goal threat from the right", which is pretty much what you said the other day (and I suspect why you brought up sides and feet again today) - you'd have to clarify there that you meant left-footed or it just sounds like a mistake. When you say "a left-sided player", people naturally think you mean someone who plays on the left.

I would just give the example:

-Mahrez, left footed, right sided

-Mane, right footed, left sided

Of course a lot of these players can play either side.

So we're saying a player can play in the left but be a right sided player because he's right footed? That's ridiculous.

So are they Wingers or inverted wingers?

Yes. 'Sided ' is a reference to the players preferred foot, not his position.

No. Sided is the side he plays on. It's absolutely ridiculous to suggest otherwise.

Salah is a left sided player? That's just stupid.
