Henderson Story

I watched the Sky Sports Football Show on Tuesday. It was exactly 9 years to the day that Henderson signed for Liverpool. Its a good watch, but anyway it reminded me of a time that my friend/work colleague (LFC fan) bumped into Jordan Henderson on a train.

It was March/April 2012 and Henderson had endured a difficult first season for you. He was really just regarded as a bad signing who wasn't good enough for Liverpool, even though he was young. Anyway, my mate gets on a train in Stockport and goes to sit down. He said he did a double take of a lad sat with a baseball cap on, only to realize it was Jordan Henderson.

He sat opposite him and let onto him, my mate is a huge Liverpool fan and they got talking. Henderson actually APOLOGIZED to him for being so poor for Liverpool in his first season and said he was desperate to improve his form. He then said that he knew he had thrown his chances of going to Euro 2012 down the drain because he'd been so poor.

I have to say, that to me says a lot about his character. You must remember in 2012 he was pretty much a kid, so to say sorry to a fan probably tells you why he's your captain now. My friend said he was a really nice guy and offered to sign something for him, but my pal didn't have a pen on him. He refused to take a photo with him though as he said he wasn't into that.

Anyone else got any football player stories??

Trains seem a good place to pick up random celebrities/footballers, especially the Virgin cross country first class areas

Um..one time I saw Sun Ji Hai walking down the street with his family.

One time I saw Danny Sidebothom in the Trafford Centre

One time I saw Phil Bardsley with his wife Tanya from real Housewives of Cheshire in a supermarket. Phil was proper dressed like a čhàv, I actually only knew it was him because I recognise Tanya

One time when I was working as a cashier at Tesco I served Denis Law’s wife. It was when Gary Neville had just flopped at Valencia and he was on the front page of some newspaper she was buying. She defo dropped a cheeky plug, and said ‘oh poor Gary’ or something like that. I said ‘yeah he hasn’t done well’, then she drops ‘I know , I knew he got the job when my husband told me’ or something, then I questioned how she knew Gary and went on saying she’s Denis Law’s wife and has met all the players etc.

All very exciting as you can see

This has the makings of the world's worst after dinner speech

Though to be fair my stories - involving pulling up alongside the ginger magician Steve Davis at a set of traffic lights - are no better.

Agreed. I once had s*x with Tyra Banks on a Virgin Pendolino.

For me that just shows:

a) The level of pressure on a young lad is actually massive and his head is there spinning round worrying about form and what it means at the club and at the international level.

b) having a chat with a stranger on a train is a risky way to work out stuff. 9 years on a player couldn't do that as it'd be on the interweb a half hour later.

For me yes it says a lot about his ambitions and mentality and I know he was talking every early about playing for england etc.

It does show why he'd be a captain while others are just not at that level as they are not the same focus.

I met Tommy Sheridan at a swingers club.

He's been a good servant but the fact he's still here instead of someone like Toni Kroos demonstrates FSG's clear negligence.

Don't let Klopp turning water into wine distract from that!
