Our next two games are against 2 of the best teams in Europe who are both light years ahead of us in every department.
The reality is we are going to probably lose both games. Pool are going to be full strength tomorrow and their front 3 love feisting on our defence and have a history of destroying us with Firminho, in particular, who tends to always save his best for us.
Then we have City who are probably going to beat us by at least 3 or 4 goals. They have pummeled us in the last 7 or 8 games. The games have become so one sided that it's embarrassing at times
These are also the type of games where one of our players is likely to have a brain fart. It's inevitable whenever we play a big team
So what will this do Arteta. If we get humiliated in both games, will fans start to question arteta as manager?
Personally I like Arteta and what he is trying to achieve. My issues are sometimes with his substitutions in games where he is more on the reactive side.
If we had beaten spurs and held on against Leicester then losing to both City and pool may not have been that bad. However, with the spurs result and us potentially getting smashed in the next 2 games, I fear the claws will be out for Arteta.
Just feel sorry for him as he has to finish the season playing 2 of the best teams in Europe let alone the prem.
Next 2 games could really hurt Arteta

I prefer first to play and then talk. We have nothing to lose and Pool nothing to gain. If we have no brainfarts at our back again we always have a chance of a point(s).

Arteta is paid to manage to produce results. He has some leeway because those players are not his players. And Wenger failed with that core as did Emery. So I don't think anyone genuinely believes that the next few games will break him. A cup in the first season would go a long way to help build his reputation though.

People keep banging on about the last time we beat city in the semi.
We had a certain Sanchez at the time who was a big game player.
This team has no game changers for me, especially against the big boys

Arteta is a progressive coach though and I just hope he gets backing this summer even without European football

As long as we dont fall behind so quickly because of individual errors we of course are able to score on any occasion. I concede that we hardly are clinical enough in this season when it matters.
To beat Liverpool or City of course things must come together in our favour. It's not mission impossible.

Pool is maybe a more realistical chance but factor in that they have only 3 games in the last 2 seasons.
That's crazy

As for the big games, only trust Laca to turn up out of this sorry bunch. Yes he isn't as prolific as Auba but he does always get on the scoring sheet against the tradition top 6

Arsenal have always been good value to pull out an unexpected domestic Cup result out of the hat. Sometimes even stringing a series of Cup results together all the way to a final, despite poor corresponding results in the league.
90 minutes is all that stands between us and the final. Win the semi, and all bets are off.
Come on Arteta. Prove them all wrong! .

Arteta's p'd me right off but I'm not one for sacking a manager in under 2-3 years. And for this squad, that's more 3. Both matches are "Happy as long as we don't get a cricket score," for me.
Actually looking forward to the pool game though. for certain player matchups. Assuming both are picked then Saka has to get by Alexander Arnold and on the right I wanna see if Pepe can give VVD as much trouble as he did at Anfield.
Arteta doesn't need to worry about these games in job terms, he's safe until Christmas. Fans will say "Oh I'll give him next season cos he didn't even get a whole one, Emery stuffed this one up," or similar. However if we don't look nailed on for CL by Christmas, they'll start yelling for his job.

I've been questioning Arteta for a while. I dont like the slow build up game and the longer he has been in charge the worse it gets. we retain possession at all costs including no counter attacks to keep possession, play it wide and hope to score from there while keeping most players behind the ball.
And when we defend we press high up the pitch. the teams that look to get the ball forward fast against us will get something from the game, most notably Brighton and totteringham.
The question in my mind is would I prefer a massive loss while trying to play better football or carry on like this and try to keep the score down.
