Top 4 spot and a Cup final.
Tammy Pulisic and Mason come through.
Timo and Ziyech on their way.
And all that with Christensen and Kepa at the back!
What a season

Can I ask you a genuine question (not a wum, promise).
Do you as a Liverpool fan feel a bit silly bringing up your history as a counter argument consistently to justify your lack of successes (by that standard) in the present now the monkey's off your back?
All fans appreciate their own club's history, but can you see how it was a lame argument now? How referencing it means very little to anyone in a present day football debate besides your own fans?

Lets face it Devil, when a Liverpool fan talks about history, what they're actually talking about is the wealth of trophies they won in a (recent) part of their history, ie the 70s and 80s.
I mean if you were that interested in history you could support Notts County, Bolton or Bury couldn't you!
As far as their own history, in the true sense of the word, they don't even have the longest history on Merseyside let alone England!

I know, but they used to do it so much (referring to that period) to the point where it seemed like they truly believed it was in any way relevant to a present day debate - that it automatically strengthen Liverpool's modern standing by default - and I never understood it.
Whatever happens to us within the next 20-30 years I'll always look back on this period of our own history with magnificent memories, but if we hypothetically didn't win a lot from now till then I can't imagine myself referencing this point in time to the future superpowers as an argumentative position to suggest we're on their present day level? That's stupid
I'm just curious.

Why would you be curious about a club that has less history than Tranmere Rovers!

If this is what I was doing, I would answer your question. Luckily, it's not.
The more relevant observation is that fans of clubs that used to call us Historypool don't seem to be feeling silly now that they are regularly referring to their own histories, oblivious to the irony of it. So why should a Liverpool fan feel silly?
This is a biased business. Why is it suddenly not silly to refer to history anymore? If it was silly back when Liverpool fans did it, and deserving of ridicule, then its still silly when others do it now, right? And also deserving of ridicule too.
Perhaps referring to your history is a natural reaction and not so absurd after all, and should have never elicited the spasms it elicited from fans of other clubs.
It seems the rules are made up as we go along. It was previously frowned upon to bring up history, now its frowned upon to frown upon people who bring up history.
Previously a lack of experience was a driving factor, but now that you have some history of your own, you will admit that its not so easy to not refer to it, no? As they say, experience is the best teacher.

I've noticed that attitude starting to slowly creep in with sections of Man United fans (and yes it is ironic), but it's no where near the levels of persistence Liverpool fans used to do it especially when arguing with Chelsea fans, in my experience at least. I remember those early Abramovich years where Pool fans seemed desperate to make us believe our successes meant nothing because of no successes to the same degree before - as if success (i.e. trophies) alone is what defines the history of any football club (but that's a separate debate).
It is a natural reaction, I can see how it becomes a trap people can fall into cos we all love our clubs in a selfish way, but the line is recognizing when it's relevant in a debate. The vibe Liverpool fans gave off the last 25 years or so, before it became clear Klopp was special, was Liverpool were every bit the power of teams like United, Chelsea & Arsenal solely based on a spell of success 10-20 years ago - it's a fine line between proud & delusional, too often Liverpool fans slipped into the latter & I'm not the only one who thinks that.
Relating to Chelsea, we've always had a history we were proud of just from a different POV as Liverpool or other fanbases, the last 25 years just happened to have featured a lot of trophies/high league finishes. But personally I could never envision myself lauding this period of acclimated trophies in the face of future generations as a means to argue we're just as good or better than them which was the point of my original comment to Neo... i.e. we have more PL titles than Liverpool, argo Chelsea > Liverpool right now? Of course we're not! But that's the vibe I've had from Liverpool fans until very recently.

You ain't got no history - Historypool, both tainted arguments to anyone who bothered to examine the 'actual' history of both clubs!

And being a double negative, "You ain't got 'No' history", is actually a compliment!!
