I don't hate international breaks as much as many, and actually enjoyed the inaugral Nations League.
However, the decision of UEFA to go ahead with this weeks games is rather ridiculous. Every other confederation has postponed this months break until January 2022, yet UEFA have gone ahead. Obviously there are reasons behind it, but none are obvious.
There are a lot of withdrawals already from these fixtures, with the likes of Paul Pogba, Adama Traore and a few Iceland players among those who have pulled out after positive Corona tests.
To add to the farce, the Manchester clubs have had to postpone their opening day fixtures due to the lateness of their 19/20 season finish. Yet the same players have to travel across Europe to play in these games?!
As I said earlier, other confederations successfully asked FIFA to open up an international date in January 2022 - which means many PL players have to go on international duty during next season. It is the same time as the African Nations Cup, so the sensible decision would be to move a round of UEFA games to this period.
At a time when UEFA clubs are preparing for a new season, or just started one, and when there is a pandemic still ongoing, this break seems very ill advised and detrimental to football.
Nations League Farce.

International football overall is my fave outside of watching Wolves. Euros, world cup dish up by far the best memories.

" Most of the real club fans don't give a fack"
Sorry, but this is bull.
Not sure how you're defining 'real fans' but in my experience, fans who actually go to games are very passionate about International football.

It's even a nightmare to bet on. You just don't know for sure which countries will even take it seriously.

I'm surprised the FA haven't dragged Beckham out of retirement to try and boost the viewing figures.

That’s the thing, international football has mostly been supported by smaller & lower league clubs!

International football is a lower standard than the prem and is very much something that's supported by certain folk. yes lower league fans and the barmy army types every few years but most fans of prem clubs don't give a hoot about it as it gets in the way of their TV armchair watching.
lfc fans have special reason to not back England that much but our players have given far more service than some clubs in terms of turning up
