Interesting conversation by the way, regarding players that were 'useful' before joining DCFC or after leaving the club.

So many factors that can be at play:

* Overawed by the expectations
* Played in a unfamiliar role ( see Vydra, Weimann, Ince as recent examples)
* The coaching methods used (Rowett, Clement)
* The hostilities from fans
* Using the club as a retirement fund
* Lack of due diligence to determine the type of player we're signing ( Butterfield, Lawrence, Anya as my examples)

That Camara bloke was pretty useless. I think it was a good idea by Spart to name the worst team in the last 10 years. There are so many to choose from.

Good points. Are Derby fans any more hostile than others? Hard to tell from here!

Because of parachute payments and PL clubs buying up players just to stop other clubs from getting them, it has become much more difficult to progress from the Championship. We must not lose heart and hope and we have to enjoy Championship football in the mean time. Hard, I know when we get such a poor start but - things will come good. We have a good club, great infrastructure and some very promising youngsters. We had such a lot of pre-season injuries and - we are missing Keogh very badly.

Forgot about Camara, easy to forget. Good player for five minutes when he came on as sub, then disappeared. Didn't he have some heart defect or something similar. Again due diligence. I remember he was the first overseas player signed on the advice of Mo Camara (no relative claim but suspicious).

My waste of money team from the last 10 years..

Cracking first eleven. I would have Malone ahead of Cole, surely he cost much more overall. Too soon to know whether or not Bielik will be a waste of money or a fantastic investment. Probably somewhere in between.

Also have to wonder what the final judgment of our current captain might be, even if we are only paying part of his wages. He was very good before lockdown but hardly value for money since then.

If I remember right, that was the Nigel Clough / GSE strategy. It turned out the fans didn't have the patience to see it through.
