Bielik

This video makes him look like the complete midfielder. (An edit including all his successful passes will make him look fantastic).

* We have to remember he's still raw,
* The injury he encountered will have a physical and mental impact on his play.
* Personally I don't see him being 100% until following season.

Hopefully we're not putting a massive expectation on him this season - he'll definitely need easing back into this division and I think in one position, be it midfield or defence.

I've not got any great expectations of Bielik. I think he is one of the numerous reasons why our club are in the mess they are.

Considering he hasn't played many games there are a lot of good things in those clips! His attributes are absolutely what we need, that drive in midfield. He’s a rich man’s Shinnie! It’s just a question of how long it takes to get up to speed and also that he needs to play within himself a little bit so as to stay fit and not get yellow cards..

Massive shame injuries have blighted his career. Had masses of potential, real quality.

When is he due back?

19 games, 0 goals, 0 assists, one red card, injured in warm up, cost £10M. Just says about everything.

The 10 million tag isn’t quite right, it’s the figure that the fee could ultimately rise to depending on appearances etc. A useful stick to beat him with though Spart so well done for that. Max Bird’s stats for assists and goals would also be pretty poor as were Will Hughes’s stats of this sort when he was at Derby and he played further forward than Bielik and in a better team. They don’t mean all that much.

I think when he's fit / back he will be a big asset to the team. I agree the ACL is a major injury - which if memory serves me well, used to be career ending. There was comment on another site about ACL's which indicated that once you've had one, they can go again - as happened with Forsyth. I can remember reading about Paulo Wanchope and was flabbergasted when he said he'd had something like 4 on one knee and 5 on the other over his career.
Anyway. I hope Bielik recovers well because we could certainly use his (yet to be proven) power in Midfield.
We have missed players like Huddleston & Martin too - although now left club and whatever the skills of our new "up and coming" midfielders of Knight, Sibley and Bird they need more 'presence' in the midfield area - which can only come with time. A pity too that Waghorn & Lawrence have been absent at this time of transition.
I dont expect our season to get going until October / November.

Completely the wrong stats to demonstrate the prowess of a defensive midfielder/ centre half, Spart. But you’re not thick you know that so just a cheap shot to attempt degrade a player that you’ve taken against. Will he be your 666s’ Keogh going forward?
The more open minded faithful will look at those clips and think he is exactly what’s missing in midfield right now.
He will take time to get match fit but we are currently in a right pickle when it comes to bedding in a settled team as most of our best players have yet to play together yet.
I can see exactly where Beilik fits into Cocu’s plans sitting at DM and being brave enough to make a forward pass or grab the game and drive it on.

He could be our most important player this season.

Spart "not thick" claims Rameses. Is he just trying to be provocative? What is the evidence for this statement?

So tell me what Bielik has done to warrant all this optimism. You can split hairs over the fee being 10 million but can you honestly say when you saw him that there was an exceptional player there. The statistics mirror the performances. Had they made a montage of all his average and poor play it would have lasted a couple of hours.

Bird has made assists and unfortunate not to have his name on the scoring list. Hughes made plenty of assists and scored goals, though not enough. You didn't see Hughes stop after he made a decent pass unlike Bielik. Instead Hughes ran in to space to make himself available for the next pass. You can only stroll through a game like Beckenbauer if you have Beckenbauer's skill.

Bielik will have to do a great deal more to convince me he is anything more than average. One thing in his favour is that if his fee is dependent on appearances we have a good chance of it never reaching £10M.

Gotta love these fans who need to be "convinced".

I just hope that he is given time to get back to match fitness before the "fans" scapegoat him..

Got to pity these fans who seemed convinced without evidence. I leave that to the religious and the conspiracy theorists.

Spart I believe you have lost the romance.

Being a fan is all about blind faith.

I don't know whether Bielik is a centre half or a defensive midfielder and nor does he.

As usual on footballing matters.....I agree with Spart.

'Spart' and 'romance' in the same sentence, Jesus wept.

Not blind faith, just hope and an open mind. I'm not "convinced" by anything but I think he has the attributes required in that position. He needs to get and stay fit of course. George Thorne had all of the required attributes but he never became the great player most of us thought he would be.

I expect most Derby fans hope Bielik will do well but probably not Spart or VC. Though they might deny it, they would prefer Derby to do badly than to have a player prove them wrong.

There’s precious little to look forward to this winter but I hope the Rams can bring some light to the gloom.

I remain optimistic. Though I don’t expect much change to our fortunes til after the international break.

I’m not so optimistic after last week and I think if things don’t start looking better fairly soon it may get past the point of no return. Losing matches drains confidence and it’s a downward spiral. We don’t really have the players to simply pare it back to basics, keep it tight and get a few points on the board any old how. Unlike some teams we have to play well to win, we aren’t likely to win a scrappy game with a bundled-in corner.

Last season things were bleak when Waghorn got a late equaliser at Wigan in an awful game, the one coincidentally where Bielik was subbed because he looked like he was about to get a second yellow card. We kicked on after that. Something similar might turn it round, hopefully.

You can hear Bielik coming from about a mile off .. as he drives to training in his monster loud G wagon . Also pretty much you can set your clock by him passing my house.

So in short very likely to telegraph passes, but always arrives on time !

Make of that what you will 🤣

That is absolute bull$£iT1, I want the Rams to do well and if Bielik or Tommy Tuppence start looking like players I will be delighted. The thing is that Spart and I have seen some very good players in our time and don't like pumped up twerps who aren't fit to wear the same shirt numbers as the great Kevin Hector and Roy McFarland. Not to mention Colin Todd's shirt worn by that useless Dutch bloke.

It makes me want to cry..... how did we ever get into this mess?
