A 2 week break wont turn him into a decent defender, it's way more than, 'he needs a break/clear his head BS'. He's getting turned over on a weekly basis, giving him a break won't stop that.

True, but theres a difference between Maguire’s usual flawed game and what he’s going through now which is a real crisis of confidence where he is an accident waiting to happen. I rate the guy and wanted us to sign him. But he’s not currently playing as good as he can and his lack of confidence is like a virus that can spread to other players.

I get that but i just don't get where this 'sympathy' for him is coming from, numerous players, especially the foreign ones, that come with a big fee, don't get nowhere near this type of sympathy from the media/fans.

I don’t particularly have sympathy for him. I just want him not to be in the side right now as he’s in shocking form. Whether he takes a holiday or just sits on the bench, the guy needs to be taken out for his own good. I’d say the same for an £80 million English CB or a Japanese player bought for £1 million.

The only bit I do not agree with there Robb is that I have no sympathy for him. It was self inflicted.

i think its safe to say noone really knows what went on in Greece, (well apart from the nonce arab) both sides giving very different takes on what happened.

certainly wouldnt be the first time the greek authorities were a bit heavy handed and OTT.

i do think for his own state of mind he maybe needs a short break because he looks a broken man and that kind of thing can spiral quickly

What he needs a gritty, combative game in the rain where he emerges as the MOTM with great tackles, clearances and bullying of the opposition. unfortunately in such a game he'd probably not win any of those challenges and end up conversing 3 instead.
