This might seem like a silly question, but last night's team selection and performance got me wondering whether most people were wrong to think that we have good strength in depth?
Does having a strong squad mean:
a) That we should be able to make as many as 9 changes (basically a completely different outfield team) and expect the players to blend naturally and play free flowing confident football?
or
b) does it mean that if we get an injury or two to first team players that we have more than adequate replacements who can fit into the team structure and perform at a good level and maintain the team's form and results.
I must say that my view is "B" above.
Therefore I'm not too disheartened by last last nights debacle. I think Jose learned a lesson that perhaps the way forward is not to make wholesale changes to the team unless maybe we're playing some lower league team in one of the domestic cups.
What's your view?

Can't blame for Jose for making loads of changes from Monday's game considering we have to play on Sunday again. Most people before the match were happy with the team he picked on paper. It made sense to make a raft of changes.
As you said though hopefully Jose has learned a lesson or two in who he can trust going forward.
That said I would like him to field the same sort of side next Thur and hopefully he comments yday post match were some sort of mind game to motivate the feckers.

You can absolutely blame Jose for last night's result. We might have been happy with the team but we're not the experts. He's going on about it being 'an easy choice' next time, alluding to the fact that the players let him down but the truth is that he decided to play Davies, a LB, at centre half. His dawdling on the ball isn't usually punished at left back. We all know Jose said "you can blame me for the result" but if that is the case maybe don't caveat the statement by declaring that he'd have changed all 11 players if he could.
Absorbs credit when we win, plays the blame game when we lose. I'd absolutely hate working under a manager like that.

Name me a manager that doesn`t?

It amuses me that you pro Mourinho supporters, know so very, very little about the man, other than to keep repeating Parrot fashion the words "serial winner"

I thought Spurs had a 'Great Squad'
The 'Strongest in the League'
'Genuine Title Contenders'
Or have I been missinformed🤔

Reguillon isn't a loan, he cost £25m but has a buy back clause for 2 years time.
He was a player we needed, as was PEH, so not penny pinching to get the right players in at the right price.
Bales wages are huge, extra wages on Vinicius added to the £56m on lo Celso on Jan and £65m on NDombele last summer.
I'd sat Levy is splashing all he can while having stadium debt and no fans to provide income.

Pretty sure they can try and get over the next two summers

No team, not even Man City, have a squad XI that they could say play in the Prem, it just doesn`t work like that.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Man City's 2nd Starting XI is probably stronger than most sides in this league as it is. It's hard to correctly determine what Man City's strongest XI is, but even in most people's opinion, Man City's 2nd side I'd feel could quite easily challenge for the CL places, at minimum. Depending on who you class as 2nd choice.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I doubt it mate, even their best XI is hardly pulling up trees this season. Yes they have a strong squad. But no way would their second XI be able to play all season and challenge for a CL spot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'd bet they would. Their 2nd squad is quite clearly better than most in the league by some distance.
If you consider the likes of Mahrez, Jesus, Stones, Mendy, Cancelo etc 2nd string players, they have by far and away more quality than many clubs in the rest of the league. That's with me not rating Stones as well.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well it clearly isn't, otherwise City would not be sitting in midtable as it stands.

Who are the etc players? You have only mentioned five players. A team usually has 11.
