Nobby Stiles

Very sad to hear the news ...I watched Nobby many times during the 1960s playing my team Leeds, imo similar in style to Norman Hunter, both known for hard tackling, but great passers and determined attitudes, loyal to their respective clubs....I remember Nobby giving Jimmy Greenhoff a few bruises in epic matches with Leeds, before the latter was transferred to your club....imo Nobby was a standout performer in 1966 World Cup victory....

A unique man. Dancing around like a demented toothless pixie wearing the Cup hat is my lasting memory. He put fear and doubt into every forward that faced him in the days of studded boots - not slippers. Had Eusebio in his back pocket.

R.I.P to a true United legend

The more I think of him, the sadder I get. He was a big part of my favourite time as a fan. I must have seen just about all of his games. Surprised to read he scored a few goals, I don't remember one. I raise a glass to your memory Nobby. Rip.
