RIP Nobby, part of my growing up he was the character in the team,
Younger than i thought. RIP
RIP Nobby, remember you well from United and England days.
Another legend lost...RIP Nobby!
I knew he had alzheimers, very sad.
I saw his debut.
An absolute..... Man United legend.
Met him many times.
RIP Norbert.
Really important player for United. Not many make it into the 300 club, and that was a *lot* of games back then.
More than ten years at United, football league winner, European Cup winner, and World Cup winner.
Proper legend
'A heart bigger than the gap in his teeth.'
He was a Manc who played for United won the League Title and the European Cup and also won the WC with England.
We all had that dream when we were kids.
Nobby lived it.
How very sad to hear of Nobby’s passing. We all knew he’d been ill for some time. Effectively cancelled out Eusebio at Wembley in May ‘68 if I remember correctly. Yes, I did watch it on the box.
I think I only saw him “live” once at our place (68/69).
Very sad news indeed. Bless his heart.
Very sad to hear the news ...I watched Nobby many times during the 1960s playing my team Leeds, imo similar in style to Norman Hunter, both known for hard tackling, but great passers and determined attitudes, loyal to their respective clubs....I remember Nobby giving Jimmy Greenhoff a few bruises in epic matches with Leeds, before the latter was transferred to your club....imo Nobby was a standout performer in 1966 World Cup victory....
Great memories
RIP Nobby
Sad news, top player, son played for Leeds and of course was brother in law of John Giles, RIP Nobby,
A unique man. Dancing around like a demented toothless pixie wearing the Cup hat is my lasting memory. He put fear and doubt into every forward that faced him in the days of studded boots - not slippers. Had Eusebio in his back pocket.
Thanks for all the memories Nobby.
