Lampard has hit the sweet spot with the balance of the team at the moment. As long as we don’t get ravaged by injuries we will be in contention.

Ah you already discussed this. Yeah it is actually difficult to think of any CBs of a good age, that is actually realistic, who would provide both the quality but also leadership, and perhaps even ‘respect’ that Thiago silva has brought so far.

He won't be the answer - more squad padding. As for Declan Rice, he has potential as a defensive midfielder but too lightweight for central defence.

I'm not so sure about the padding, I can only go by YouTube clips but in the his distribution was amazing. The following article gives the impression that he held a pretty good scoping of himself against city. He's young and French, could Zouma and Sarr be the next Marcel and LeBeof
