if pleat being at the club was causing friction, which it obviously was. It's better he's gone.

Being successful at this level is hard enough, without everyone being at each others thoats all the time.

Keep it simple, have faith in the manager you employ at great expence and let him do his job. Give him as much help and support as you can and get on with it.

Stretts old bean, whilst I'm not in the habit of jumping on bandwagons:

No1. He was not on the wage bill.
If he's getting paid £120,000 what difference does it make to the club? We are still paying him.
No2. He hasn't been on the AP for over a year (no-one has, because it was dispanded)
He has announced himself that he's stepped down from the position. Are you saying that they fired him a while ago and just didn't tell him?
