Robb, I've just been reading 'an interview with a British comedian called Tim Minchin. He moved to Sydney a couple of years ago, and was talking about where they go at weekends. He used to go to the Blue mountains and and the North Coast. But now he goes to Kangaroo valley, which is a two hour drive away.
It sounded great, so if you haven't been, look it up.
Sorry footie fans, there was no other way to pass the info on

He was brought up in Perth, amazing how he lost that Scots accent.

He was on breakfast tv last week, live from Australia.
He is not related to Louise Minchin. His kids are Australian.

Cheers OP, he’s like me. A half breed Australian/British person. Very entertaining too ๐. I haven’t been to Kangaroo Valley, but I’m sure I’ll get around to it. So many places to explore. The Blue Mountains are exceptional. Somewhere everyone needs to go at some point. When all this is over the doors will open to the world and I’m everyone will be desperate to see the world again.

Apparently kayaking is the thing, and what you see is nature, but what you hear is a nonstop cacaphony of birdsong.

Ignore MU since 52. All you can view is koalas, as far as the eye can see. It's a deliberately ironic name
