There is so much happening with electric cars at the moment, not least of which is the government bringing forward the date for banning sales of fossil fuel cars to 2030.
One of the things always mentioned is charging infrastructure, So I thought I would take a moment to post the latest Fully Charged episode, covering the first of a number of planned Charging hubs.

Ev's are the future, it's amazing to me how few people realise how quickly it is coming.
Back to electric cars for a second.

Well with the petrol and diesel ban being just 9 years away now, it's rather inevitable. So like with retail and the internet, any car manufacturer who doesn't act fast will be a goner.

There is no doubt legacy auto have been dragging their feet when it comes to electrification, and have for years actively fought to slow it down. desperate to hold onto their current business model.
All they have actually done is gift Tesla a huge advantage in the EV space, and they are now all playing catch up. Some will not survive this transition, and and I include some big names in that.
One things for sure, EV's are the future on our roads.

If the Rimac Nevera at £2 million is a little out of your reach. Tesla have you covered, for the cheap price of $130,000, you too can do 0-60 in under two seconds
To put this into perspective, this is outperforming hypercars costing millions. It is insane to think this sort of performance can be achieved in a four door family saloon at that price.

There is a lot going on in the EV world. But one of the most interesting (at least to me) is the people working on autonomous driving.
There are many approaches being taken, and they generally rely on as many sensors as possible. Camera's, Radar, Lidar. etc.
But Tesla have gone the opposite direction, actually taking away radar, and relying solely on camera's. A bold move, But their reasoning is sound, and they have some of the top AI people in the industry, and some unique advantage's. That mean self driving cars are a lot closer than people imagine.

Now this was a pretty straight forward run, and there are many instances, where the driver would normally have to intervene. But there are also instances where the car handles awkward situations surprisingly well.
This is only Beta, and only available to a select few. But the huge strides being made are obvious, to anyone following this stuff.
As a little bonus. Tesla have released the Plaid version Model S. This thing is fast. How fast? watch the video and decide for yourself.

Tesla Ai day
Tesla are making huge strides towards full self driving, It is fair to say it is a complex task, which needs a joined up approach to solve. Hardware, software, data, and of course talented people.
This is something that Tesla do very well. They are not driven by profit, they are driven by innovation. Meaning making money, does not get in the way, of creating the innovation that ultimately makes money.
Self driving is a lot closer than people think. it is a long presentation, but great for those interested in ai.

Preconditioning sounds lovely, but if you still have an icy ICE car then just pour a jug of cold water on the windscreen.

Hobo, it doesn't just sound lovely. it is lovely. It isn't just the windscreen, the whole car is clear. and inside warm and toasty. with literally no effort from you, it is done automatically (once set up)
Anybody who knows me, will know I have been following the EV revolution from the start (start of Tesla at least) and it really is coming to a head. ICE cars really are yesterdays technology, there is a huge shift taking place. This is not a time to be buying an old ICE car (or at least a new one)
