I just wanted to give a shout out to Serge Aurier, who I thought was excellent again on Sunday.
His interception and pass that took out 4 Arsenal players, led to our second and ultimately, killer, goal.
He's taken a lot of (unfair imo) criticism on these boards so just wanted to acknowledge his fine form under José.
Let's not also forget that he played a few days after his brother's death, even though he was given permission to head back to France.

I have always rated him.
Some of our supporters were on his back on everything he did. I prefer to give all our players a chance.
Same thing happened with Mo Sissoko.

You could say the same about some supporters being on Trippier's back all the time, ahem.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Trippier was just not first team material. OK squad player.

Thank God he is playing so well as Doherty looks dreadful.
I wonder if Wolves would have him back?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
'Dreadful' is a bit of an exaggeration, no?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Doherty will be OK, but only as a squad player. I certainly will not be getting on his back.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I hope Doherty turns out to be a better player than he's shown so far but I fear he may be one of those who was more comfortable being a big fish in a small pool.
That said I've always thought Aurier was a decent player who made too many mistakes and if Dohertys arrival is the reason that he's now more reliable then it makes his signing more worthwhile.

Neither was Aurier until recently under Mourinho. Trippier must have something about him himself to have been wanted by Simeone. Might end up winning a title this season.

I have criticised Serge but I was full of praise for him when he played just days after the murder of his brother. He struck me as a guy in the Amazon doc as someone who knows how lucky he is to be what he is. He went up massively in my estimation of him as a man, and as a player yes he has improved massively probably down to Jose but also Ledley giving him defensive advice no doubt

--------------------------------------------------------------------Selective memory Sandy strikes again. I'm pretty sure you wanted Ndombele to be booted out. Worst player you've ever seen in a spurs shirt etc. And Lo Celso for that matter. Thankfully both have proven you wrong. As expected.

Ive always liked him. He's cut out most ofthe silly challenges in and around the area but you know its always in there.
Anyone noticed what a greater header of the ball he is?
Doherty has been a huge disappointment so far.

Doherty needs time to settle too. At Wolves he was a wing back and now plays in a back 4. Can't be easy for him to adjust but at least Aurier is pulling his weight(finally).

He must play RWB for them as he was always good going forward for us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nope he plays as a right back the majority of the time. Their setup is somewhat different as they have the two wide men sat narrow and deep protecting the lane between CB and RB - not too dissimilar to how Sissoko and Hojbjerg have set up last few games
