Do you think Arteta knows how to coach? Most managers have some coaching experience at youth levels or in lower divisions. I felt the warning signs were there, when the club 'Josh Kroenke', promoted Arteta to manager. I think they internally assessed Arteta after a few months that Arteta couldn't actually coach at all. Appointing a huge 'coaching team' is another sign of that.

So if you enter a dressing room, and not an ordinary dressing room but a one of a top club, its vital you have some kudos or are capable of showing some coaching genius. Obviously Arteta doesn't have the authority of an Allegri or Enrique but seems to me he isn't very clever either!

No idea jenius, I didn't really follow Arteta's career at Man City to really have an informed opinion.

I think Arteta is simply an inexperienced manager making the same mistake that a lot of young managers do - which is trying to stamp their authority on the team (in a forced manner) when what they really need to do is get buy-in and respect. And that often comes from making your players feel valued.

This almost reminds me of AVB at Chelsea, who came in and overnight demanded his squad play a style they weren't comfortable with. That kind of inflexibility was his undoing and I think it will be Arteta's too if he doesn't change his ways. He will probably need to recall Ozil in Jan if he survives that long.

It's all just a chain of ego.

Arteta won't admit he's made mistakes within the squad, therefore we won't get any better.

Edu & Vinai won't admit they've made a mistake with Arteta, so we won't get any better.

Kroenke's won't admit they made mistakes with the board, so again we won't get any better.

I believe Arteta was Josh Kroenke's appointment. Vinai's comments of Arteta's power was very significant at the time but mostly ignored by the media. I suspect Edu/Vinai have known for a while he is not up to it. Its time for Josh to act.

Josh Kroenke is not around Arsenal for long enough to need a 'yes' man. Thats one of the problems that have followed us since the Kroenke took charge.
