Brighton v Wolves match preview

Date: Saturday 2nd January
Kick off: 17.30
Venue: AMEX Stadium

So 2020 is over and I can’t say I’m sorry to see the back of it. Unfortunately, with regards to the Covid-19 virus, things have not improved in the previous 9 months and if anything, are worse than ever with more and more clubs reporting that they have players and staff that have tested positive.
On Saturday Wolves travel to Brighton for the third game of 6 in a crazy 21 day period.

Brighton are currently sitting in 17th place in the table with 13 points having only managed 1 win in their last 15 games. Currently, just 2 points above the drop zone, they are very much involved in a relegation battle.

Wolves are 12th in the table with 21 points having won 1, drawn 1 and lost 3 of their last 5 games

With an ever growing injury list, Nuno Espirito Santo has been relying more and more on the young players in the squad who, despite their inexperience, have displayed some precocious talent in recent games.
On Tuesday, 11 of the Wolves 20 man squad that travelled to Old Trafford were under 23 years-old. The game ended in a 1-0 loss for Wolves but nevertheless, Nuno will be delighted with how his young team performed having outplayed United for the most part.

The previous two meetings with Brighton have ended in draws but with Brighton’s poor run of form it would appear to be a golden opportunity for Wolves to claim 3 points.

The game will be shown live on Sky Sports

Gem’s prediction 0-2

Don't know about the pub but I'm pretty sure that Holdens are still going - lovely stuff

When I lived in Kinver, there was a pub there - I forget its name - that sold Davenports on draught. One of the best pints I've ever had

The Hereford influence means cider is my drink usually, Weston's, Henneys and Gwatkins. But still love Bathams

Used to take the wife out on the bike on a Saturday and always ended up at the Anchor at Caunsall for beef & onion cobs and a couple of pints of rough cider. Happy days

Bikes
The ride when I was 16/17 was 5 or so of us waiting at a cafe opposite the king's highway in Quinton for the Bearwood / Smethwick mob. Could be 30/40 of usriding through Halesowen, Hagley and Kiddie to Bewdley.
A fantastic sight - and fantastic noise.

I quite like Stourbridge. I worked there for 3 years at Weldall Engineering in Canal Street, but I think I would rather live in Hereford
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We looked at one in Bewdley gem, right by the river
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My daughter has an apartment on Severnside South overlooking the river. Great place Bewdley but property is expensive.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The one we looked at is on the opposite bank. No flood defences on that side
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I had a house on Severnside South. Every night I got home, I went out fishing.
Cellar used to flood every winter.
Memories. !

Did you go to cafe on Severnside North, may have met you. Bikes all parked along the riverside.
Good days.
