Phil Foden is some player isn't he? Seems to get better and better every time I see him play and stepped up yesterday to completely run the second half. He clearly has a great future ahead of him.
Jack Grealish is also having a fantastic season. Villa's talisman has grown in maturity and is such an exciting player. He can create and score goals and can unlock a defence with one pass.
Gareth Southgate has seemed reluctant to play Grealish for England. Surely they both start? Given the defence is not the strongest I would say attack is our best bet and looking at our attacking options is this our best chance at winning something in a long time?
I admit to not having seen much of Jadon Sancho this season but he seems to be getting mentioned less and less. Raheem Sterling and Phil Foden either side of Harry Kane with Jack Grealish just behind would be my pick. That would probably mean having two defensive minded players behind them.
Just seems like too good an opportunity to waste.
Over to you Gareth.

Pope/Henderson
James/TAA Stones Maguire Shaw/Chillwell
Rice Henderson
Sterling Foden Grealish
Kane
Rashford/Sancho as back up for any of the 3 behind Kane (or Rashford as CF if needed).
Maddison/Mount as back up for either Grealish or one of the CM's if we are looking for a goal and need to go more attacking.
Saka in the squad as a perfect International tournament player as he can fill in pretty much anywhere apart from CB and still look fantastic
Plenty of options, but Southgate will play 5 right backs, Dier, Rice and Henderson, probably Winks too.

Some fab English players available now. More young ones coming along too. Just wish I had more confidence in the manager.

Like Jenas said on MOTD, I'd take all of these good wingers/number 10s - Foden, Grealish, Maddison, Mount, Rashford, Sterling, and sacrifice a CF place.
Kane
DCL
Rashford
Sterling
Mount
Maddison
Foden
Grealish
Sancho
Rice
Henderson
Mings
Coady
Maguire
Stones
TAA
Trippier
James
Shaw
Chilwell
Pope
Henderson
Pickford
Something like that, with a few unlucky to miss out.

It sounds good but say Henderson gets Injured in the first game - you then have mount and rice playing 90 minutes every game
There just isn't room for all 6 of Grealish, Sterling, Sancho, Foden, Rashford and Sterling. There's barely room for 5 of them but you feel like they're so good you have to take them

I'd rather take Winks over Trippier but it's almost pointless putting down a selection without Southgate's godson.
Stones could always be pushed into a holding midfield role if it came to that.
If Henderson got injured it would be unlucky but we aren't too blessed in the midfield department anyway. With England at the moment it's about getting by on mainly the strength of our attacking options.

I forgot JWP. I would have him over Trippier or Winks.

Object to this.
Squad is missing Tammy Abraham...who happens to have the best goals to game ratio amongst all the England forwards to score 20+ over the past couple of seasons (excluding pens).
Also generational talent..Callum Hudson-Odoi, the only one to score against City' formidable CB pairing from open play in the past 12 matches.
Said player provides the xfactor and completeness which few in the squad can. Elite.
Cardinal sin to leave them both out.
